This was a wild one to crew... and every time we looked over at the monitor, it looked amazing. Can’t wait!

Netflix has unveiled the first poster for Below, its upcoming thriller series starring Josh Hartnett and Charlie Heaton. The new limited series is set to premiere on Netflix October 8.

The story follows Calvin, a fisherman in Newfoundland whose coastal community comes under attack from a mysterious creature lurking beneath the ocean. When strange events begin spreading through the town, Calvin’s son Wade also starts experiencing terrifying symptoms.

Calvin teams up with Fonda, a marine biologist played by Mackenzie Davis, as they investigate the terrifying secrets beneath the water. The series was filmed on location in Newfoundland, with the cast even shooting scenes directly on the ocean rather than relying entirely on green screen.

Below is created by Jesse McKeown and will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before arriving globally on Netflix October 8. The atmospheric first poster teases a dark mystery involving a submerged home, an enormous iceberg and something dangerous lurking beneath the surface.

The timelessness of art.. from the 1953 North American tour by naturalists Roger Peterson (from the US) and James Fisher (from the UK), has led me all these years later to an international art exhibit opening in New York tomorrow evening - ‘Art That Matters to the Planet: Wild America’ is at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, https://rtpi.org/ and is open for the next three months until the end of July 2025.
April 11th just so happens to be the date in 1953 when Roger Tory Peterson and James Fisher met up in Newfoundland, Canada, to begin their epic 100-day, 30,000-mile journey across North America. My work is properly exhibited on the International stage, showing the natural beauty of the place I come from - Newfoundland & Labrador.
