Today is Grandparents Day. 🤍
Today we celebrate the people whose love has helped hold families together across generations.
The Grandma who always seems to have something to eat, a warm hug waiting, and a little something extra slipped into your hand before you leave.
The Grandpa whose favorite stories have been told so many times that everyone knows how they end—but we still listen, because one day we may wish we could hear them just once more.
We celebrate the grandparents who show up for birthdays, school events, Sunday dinners, and ordinary afternoons. The ones who answer every phone call, wait by the door, offer advice we don't always take, and quietly pray for their families when no one is watching.
Some live just around the corner.
Others are separated from us by hundreds of miles.
Some we can wrap our arms around today.
And some we carry only in our memories, wishing we could have just one more conversation, one more meal, one more afternoon together.
Grandparents are so much more than another generation on a family tree.
They are our roots.
Our stories.
Our traditions.
Our recipes.
Our lessons.
Our memories.
They remind us where we came from and show us that when a family grows, love doesn't have to be divided.
It grows with it. 🤍
So today, make the phone call.
Go for the visit.
Take the photograph.
Ask about their childhood.
Listen to that familiar story one more time.
And if you're fortunate enough to still have your grandparents with you, don't wait for another special occasion to tell them how much they mean to you.
Love them while you can. 🤍
Happy Grandparents Day to all the wonderful grandparents out there.
