I’m back from Quebec and making one big post to celebrate my good friend turning 70! What a whirlwind of a trip. We spent time in Montreal where I caught up with a high school bestie that I haven’t seen in over 20 years. Other highlights were walking around Old Montreal and the Aura show at Notre Dame Cathedral. Then we headed off to Quebec City on Via rail. That was really fun and they have amazing customer service and the train is so spacious after airline travel I couldn’t believe the comfort. In Quebec city we stayed in a cottage built in 1840! A few pics of that space at the end of the post. Highlights would be The Citadel (built solely to defend against another attack from the Americans), Hotel Frontenac, Montmorency Falls, the food and the Old City area! ❤️canada

Nazare, Portugal. This was the one place Phil really wanted to see. Nazare is the place that hosts some of the biggest waves on the planet. We didn’t get lucky enough to see one of the giant swells rolling in but it was still really amazing to visit (Mother Nature is gonna do her thing on her time not ours). philmnit

Benagil Cave, Portugal! Phil did it. He went on a big boat 🛥️ far out into the Atlantic to see this place. We loved it! You can only see this cave from a boat, they don’t allow anyone to dock onto the beach. Or you can hike all around the top and see down into the cave. philmnit

Lagos, Portugal! Went on a little boat ride to see the caves at ponta da piedade. Wow! I loved cruising into all kinds of nooks and crannies named by the local fisherman: baby Benagil, the living room, the kitchen, the garage and the cathedral. Ever since I started research on Portugal I knew I had to see this spot myself and it did not disappoint. Even though we got up really early this morning after a long day of travelling, it was worth it to get to Quinta de Regaleira in Sintra when the first tickets are allowed through. This particular view is of the initiation well. First photo is looking up from the bottom and second is from the top down. Only a few people there that early. But by the time we left there were tons of tourists swarming the gardens (the well is part of the gardens and not the castle). philmnit
