Now, these were fun to create! Inspired by how I photograph race cars, these images show the actual speed that these dogs have, something you lose when you freeze the speed. They are definitely trickier to do than race cars, though. The whole subject is moving instead of just the wheels! The goal is to capture that split second where the dog's head is somewhat "still" while they are flying, or running if I'm lucky!

These are some favourites that were ordered from the Diamonds in the Ruff Flyball Team's September Flyball Tournament, which is up on my website for ordering!

Location for sessions is always an important piece of creating amazing images. It has to provide the best experience for the clients and their pets while also fulfilling their wishes for how they wish their images to look.

For Bruce and Rico's session, a natural space that was quiet of other people and dogs was requested, and since they are such tiny guys, a location where they won't get lost in tall grass and other vegetation is a must. This collection of images shows how many different kinds of spots we used at just one location.

When booking your session, giving me as much info on your questionnaire as you can will allow me to suggest the perfect spot for you.

I’ve shared a little bit of this amazing wedding day, but not nearly enough! And what better day to share them than on their first anniversary?

I have so much I could have shared from this day, it was hard to narrow them down! We went to so many locations, including the Starbucks (drinks for the roadtrip!), Gordie Howe Bridge, River Landing, and Better Brother Brewery for another drink before heading to the ceremony and reception in Warman. It’s was a packed day, but we had so much fun and we never felt rushed.

Happy National Black Dog Day! This day is meant to bring awareness to the lower adoption rates and longer shelter and foster stays for black dogs (and cats). If you are looking for a new family member, definitely do not overlook the darker furred dogs and cats. I promise they are just as awesome as the more flashy ones! And they also look amazing for Black Shadow photos (just sayin'! 😜)

Is there anything better than the opportunity to photograph a litter of puppies? I wanted to make some time in my schedule to do some creative work and try new things in the studio, and of course I reached out to the Saskatoon SPCA so they can also benefit from the images. You would have seen the Saskatoon SPCA post a few individual images recently that were taken to help each puppy find their family.

I hear that the current status of these puppies is that most have already been adopted, are pending adoption, or are pending being up for adoption. If you were lucky to sn**ch up one of these adorable puppies to add to your family, I would love to get in touch with you!

This is a new backdrop that I recently brought in and is now added to my Studio Guide!

This isn't it! I also had a couple of kittens in the studio from the SPCA as well that I did a fun session with! However, the editing of that session will need to wait as I have so many proofing galleries and orders to get through!

I have been wanting to chat about AI on here for a while and after seeing a certain AI image shared on social media very recently, it's time I start talking about it. Today, I'm focusing on uploading images into AI platforms.

Firstly, the AI image I speak of was not created from an image taken by me (thankfully), but it was taken by a fellow dog sport photographer in my area. I have amazing clients and dog sport friends who check in with me about using images for certain things, and always make sure to give photographer credit when posting online. I love having clients that value my work as much as I do! This is just a friendly reminder of how copyright and AI works.

When you upload an image into AI platforms, that image could then be used to create thousands of other images for anyone. This is copyright infringement. I do not use AI to create your images (more on this soon), so please do not give AI access to use my work (or any other photographer's work) to create fake images.

All galleries I send includes a "Copyright & Permitted Use" in the gallery. Please make sure to read this if you purchase images from me or receive Social Media Digitals with your printed session images. If you aren't sure on something, or want permission for a specific use, just get in touch!
