I've been photographing this group playing sports for a while now, including flyball, barn hunt and scent detection, and I finally got them out of the ring for their own session!

If you only have sport photos of your dogs, this is your sign to book a session where I can capture the other side of your relationship with you and your dog. Because they're not only our teammates, they're also family.

Today we celebrate and remember the pets that have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈

Our pets play such an important part in our lives. They may have been there for many of your life milestones. You may have grown up with them. They were your study buddy through university. They carried your rings down the isle at your wedding. They helped welcome new family members. They may have been there as support during stressful times in your life. Maybe you had amazing time playing together in your favourite sports.

On Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, look back at photos of them. Remember the amazing memories you made together. And if you'd like, let's share those memories here together, I'd love to see them.

Featured today is an image I had no idea would be as important as it ended up being when I took it. This photo was taken during my Travelling Dress Project last year. The goal of the shoot was to get an amazing shot of Kendra and Fitz together with the dress blowing beautifully. I took this quick photo of Fitz by himself just in case he didn't work out in the real shot and I could swap him in. In the end I didn't need it, he was perfect in the original with Kendra. However, a couple months later, Fitz passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I went back to this image and created this beautiful Fine Art Print for Kendra, and I also have a copy of it displayed at my studio.

Happy National Dog Day!

Did you know that August 26th became National Dog Day because founder Colleen Paige, an animal rescue advocate, adopted her first dog from a shelter with her family when she was 10 years old on this day?

National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed and purebred, rescues and working dogs. I have photographed every type of dog as well, from foster dogs needing adoption photos, to police service dogs. I love them all!

Featured is Paddy who was adopted from the Saskatoon SPCA. I loved seeing Paddy all grown up as she was brought to me for a session right after she was adopted as a puppy!

My annual Fall Mini Sessions are now open for everyone to book!

These are the only Mini Sessions I offer besides Christmas Minis! They are $200 per spot and include a quick 15 minute session and either 5 digital images or a $180 Keepsake Credit. Book 2 consecutive spots and receive $25 off! This will get you a 35 minute session and either 10 digital images or a $325 Keepsake Credit.

September is coming up quick and I'm excited for the change of the seasons!

As always, I have blocked off a weekend during the prime fall colours for Fall Minis on September 26th and 27th! Booking will open for subscribers on Monday August 17th at 9:00 am and for everyone on Wednesday August 19th at 9:00 am.

Booking will be a little different this year - I won't necessarily have 2 packages where you have to request a session. However, you'll be able to book a 2nd session to get the longer session time and extra images with a $25 discount! This way, booking will be online and quicker!

If you haven't signed up to be a subscriber yet, head to my website homepage and you'll see a signup button there. Since I'll only be doing 2 days instead of the usual 3, there will be limited spots. Make sure to watch your junk mail for the Fall Mini Subscriber Email!

The white on your older dog's face is just from all the kisses rubbing off the colour in their fur over the years. Sable has definitely received lots of love in her lifetime.

I have joined the Travelling Dress Project again this year! If you missed my blog post about it last year, make sure to check out the link to it in the comments! Long story short, a beautiful dress makes it's way around Canada, and each photographer creates their own amazing images with it. The photos in this post are the images I created with last years' dress with my friend Kendra and Fitz.

This year I'd love to offer sessions with the dress! I will be able to book sessions with the dress between September 17th-29th (pending availability). A Travelling Dress Session will be $100 +tax and will include a $100 Keepsake or 1 digital image-so no session fee!-with the ability to purchase more. Studio rental fees would also be covered by me if we decide on that for a location. Session must be in Saskatoon and area.

I've included images of the dress in the comments. This is a US size medium, and I've been told that it fits size 6 with some room. It would not be ideal for maternity photos. I would LOVE if a pet was included in these sessions, as that would be putting my own style into the images! However, pets are not required! We'll plan the session together, if there's something you have in mind to do with it, we can do that, or you can leave the creativity to me!
