POV: The title of Mom & Dad doesn't disappear the day you become Mr. & Mrs. 😂
If you've seen me at a wedding, you know I'm always trying to keep the kids happy and willing to work with us 😅 whether I'm racing one down the hall for mom and dad to get 5 minutes alone, playing peek-a-boo during the ceremony to keep them quiet, or offering moral support to parents as a mom of 3....I get it!!
Weddings are usually really long days, it can mean missed naps, early wake up, late nights.
That's a lot for a little person! And honestly... they're not going to behave perfectly. My job is to keep snapping photos, do my part in being a fun part of the day, and going with the flow when things get tricky.
Tips for guests and couples having kids at a wedding:
- Try to give them special jobs...that won't derail the entire day when they decide they don't want to do it
- Never give a child the real rings 😅
- Bring some safe foods for picky eaters or toddlers. Their favorite snack or a little leniency on their gummy intake for the day can save a lot of tantrums!
- Embrace them being little kids! The photos we get of them standing at your feet during the ceremony, dancing during the reception, or the ones they absolutely insist I take 37 of are going to be some of your favorites I promise.
If children are going to be part of your wedding day, let them be little, and I'll photograph that too 🤍
