Continuing the theme of showing off the fine Canadian whiskies that we have available here. This bottle of Forty Creek (created in Grimsby Ontario) didn't last long after the shooting was complete. Stop Motion Animation is one of my favourite techniques for getting attention to any fine product I come across. If you are a whisky drinker, I have a feeling that Forty Creek has an offering you may enjoy. I know that I have enjoyed a sip or two.

I never knew his family name, but I did learn his first name is Bruce. I shot this pair of images way back before Covid made the world crazy. I'm partial to the image on the right, but both have qualities I admire.

The lighting was very carefully planned (read spur of the moment) and executed, then considerable time and effort went into the post production (tried this and that to see what works).

Yes, I'd love to spend more time shooting more dramatic portraits if time should allow and I can find willing subjects.

Bruce, if you just happen to see this post and are willing to step into the studio again, by all means hit me up. Let's make it happen.

Probably my favourite architectural shoot done for a client. This rustic home had just been put on the market, as she was relocating east of the city and wanted a "portrait" done of the house to remember it by.
I proposed shooting at dusk and lighting the house with small flash. I took 2 exposures using ambient light and 3 small flashes with gels mounted on them.
My tripod was mounted in the bed of their pickup truck, to get it to the ideal elevation. After some location and timing finalizing, I had the image I needed.
A bit of work with the post production and it was a complete project.
I handed her a large, gorgeous print for her to frame.
To say she was thrilled is an understatement. Even her real estate agent was fully impressed.
This project was one of sentimental importance, not monetary and I was very happy to take it on for Laura.
