It was SO fun hanging out with the Brown's during their family session!

When their youngest son Greg and I were buddies in Elementary School we made big plans about how we would someday move to Australia. He would be a Koala Bear farmer (not really sure that's an actual thing but who was I to dash his 5th grade dreams) and I would be a Marine Biologist.

By 6th grade all of that was forgotten about and clearly we didn't make the big move, but it's all worked out alright, I think!

I hope you guys love your photos as much as I enjoyed catching up with you all! You are the sweetest family!

Brooklyn and Alex had the most beautiful wedding day back in July!

It was hot enough to melt you, but they were perfectly chill the whole day. These two LOVE their cats and it was so sweet that they made an effect to include them int their photos of their big day.

Hands down, two of the nicest families I have ever worked with! And Top 10 great day!

Congratulations to you guys! I can't wait to get to work on the rest of your photos but for now enjoy a little preview!

I am only months behind in posting all my favourite photos from this summer! Normally you'd get sneak peeks, but I almost like this better because now that they are all done, you get my faves!

Meet beautiful Alexa! I have had the pleasure of photographing her and her family before and as always, I was delighted they chose me for this big day!

Congratulations on your graduation from Holy Trinity High Alexa! Now go do amazing things!

When Kathleen's mom Penny suggested a trip to MUN to avoid the pouring rain on the day of her session, I wasn't sure! I hadn't shot there before, but it was awesome!

The inside definitely worked for some safe shots, but I am in love with the fact that we managed some gorgeous outdoor photos, despite the fact that the rain didn't let up the whole time!

Congratulations on your graduation from Holy Spirit High Kathleen! You are beautiful!

Mine and Sophia's friendship got off to a bit of a rocky start... but to be fair, she was only in kindergarten.

When we had just moved to Newfoundland, her mom posted in the primary school Facebook group looking for someone who could drive Sophia to daycare after school. I didn't know them yet, but I had the time and flexibility to help, so I said yes.

Sophia, however, was not thrilled about going to daycare.

She made that very clear.

Then came the moment I'll never forget.

After several failed attempts to get her chatting in the car, she finally looked around and said, completely matter-of-factly,

"You really need to clean out your car."

I've met hundreds of kids over the years, but I don't think I've ever laughed harder. I've never forgotten it.

Fast forward all these years, and that outspoken little girl has grown into a kind, mature, responsible young woman with big plans for her future and her Mother has become one of my dearest friends.

When we talked about graduation photos, it was obvious they had to happen where she's happiest. Spending the evening at the barn with her horse, the cats, and everything that comes with that life was exactly the right choice. We had visions of a gorgeous golden sunset, but life had other plans. Even without the light we were hoping for, getting to watch the connection she has with her horse made the evening incredibly special.

Congratulations, Sophia (and Ryan!), on your graduation from Holy Spirit High. I'm so proud of the wonderful young people you've both become, and I'm grateful I get to know you both.

I can't wait to see where life takes you next.

I can honestly say that, besides my own Bridget, Presley is the only graduate I've ever photographed who I've known since the very day she was born.

I was at the hospital when her mom went into labour, and I was there to meet the tiniest, sweetest little baby when she arrived. Somehow, in what still feels like a miracle, two little girls who were both born in Alberta ended up growing up here, in the same little town, in the same French immersion class from kindergarten all the way through graduation.

I've watched them take their first day of school photos, celebrate birthdays, survive exams, make memories, and grow into two incredible young women. Through it all, they've remained the very best of friends.

Presley has never just been Bridget's friend. She's become part of our family. One of my favourite people in the world. The kind of person who walks into our house without knocking, helps herself to whatever's in the fridge, and is loved exactly like one of our own. In fact, next week she'll be coming to New York with us... because that's just what family does.

Graduation day certainly didn't make things easy. It was 3°C with rain blowing sideways, and I'm pretty sure every single one of us questioned our life choices for a minute. But not once did it feel like the weather mattered. Some moments are simply too important not to capture, even if everyone is freezing and soaked to the bone.

Photographing your graduation wasn't just another session for me. It was emotional. It was such a privilege to stand behind my camera and capture this milestone after having the incredible gift of watching your whole life unfold.

I'm so proud of the person you've become, Presley. Kind, funny, thoughtful, and so deeply loved by everyone lucky enough to know you.

Congratulations, sweet girl. Thank you for letting me be a tiny part of your story from the very beginning. We love you so much, and we can't wait to see where life takes you next.

We were incredibly lucky that one of my very best Alberta friends, whose daughter had been Bridget’s best friend since birth, also happened to move into the same school zone around the same time. A complete coincidence that felt a little like the universe giving us a gift.

So through primary school, those two girls did everything together.

Then in Grade 2, we moved into a new neighbourhood and gained Becca, another bonus kid who quickly became part of our lives. We loved them all fiercely.

Junior High brought a whole new world. We were just coming out of Covid, everyone was relearning how to be around people, and for the first time in their lives, new kids were entering their world. French Immersion had meant the same faces year after year, so suddenly there were new names, new personalities, and new friendships to figure out.

Except there was Melody.

Melody arrived in my house one day, ready to head downtown to Bridget’s birthday party. She hopped into my car and, from the backseat, started telling me stories about growing up in Kuwait and moving back to Newfoundland.

She was funny. She was confident. She had the best energy.

Nan would have said she was “something.”

And I loved her right away.

I always say middle schoolers are in the most awkward stage. Their teeth, skin, hair, and style are all trying to figure themselves out at the same time. But Melody? She walked right into that stage already knowing she was someone worth getting to know.

She was never waiting to become herself.

She introduced me to the world of charcuterie and the absolute decadence of Boursin cheese and a good baguette. She could take random ingredients and create something that would make the Food Network wonder why they hadn’t thought of it first.

She cared about her health from such a young age, and somewhere along the way she left the awkward stage behind and became the extraordinary young woman she is today. She inspires me to be better and treat myself better every day.

One of my favourite things she has ever done was for Bridget’s birthday. She reached out to friends and family and gathered dozens of letters from people who love Bridget, all sharing what she means to them.

In 45 years of life, I have never seen a gift quite like that.

Only someone with the sweetest heart would think of it, organize it, and put that much love into something for someone else.

I ugly cried watching her compete in the District Lions Speak Off in Gander after winning Regionals. She was incredible, and my heart was bursting watching the woman she was becoming.

When Bridget went to Quebec for the summer without us, I slept a little easier knowing Melody and her level head were there.

A lot of kids have passed through these doors since Bridget started school. More people than I can count have our door code, and honestly, I love that. I love that kids feel comfortable here. I love that Bridget has built a community of friends who feel like family.

But I also like to think that some of them have become my friends too.

And Melody, I hope you know you are absolutely one of them. Congratulations sweet girl. You will go far. ❤️

The weather was absolutely abysmal on the day of Emma's graduation. But thankfully, this bookworm (as described by her mother) had the very best backdrop I could have asked for in her home.

I am seriously obsessed with how well this all worked out!
