The Black Castle, Wicklow. Ruins right on the edge of the Irish Sea, and such a stunning backdrop for this shoot.

I loved pairing this couple against somewhere so old and wild-looking for their engagement session. And the best part was there was also a stunning beach with dark, dramatic cliffs right beside the ruins. All of this was only a short walk from Wicklow Town; no need for a big hike or excursion to access it.

Ireland never seems to disappoint for location options, especially if you’re looking for something that isn’t in a remote location. And County Wicklow has so many more stunning locations that I can wait to check out the next time I’m there.

Always up for an excuse to go back.

For me, the best photos are the ones that make you feel something.

For World Photography Day, I’m sharing one recent wedding photo that gives me all the feels — a bride reading a letter her son wrote her, in black and white.

This is what I’ve always loved about a photograph, that it can hold a feeling long after the moment has passed.
