I called into the Ōhau B Canal NZMCA Park for the night, located opposite the High Country Salmon farm.

It was pretty windy when I arrived, but thankfully things settled down a little this morning. As the sun began to rise, I managed to get the drone up for a quick flight and grab a couple of photos of the canal and surrounding landscape in the early morning light.

As daylight began to fade after my epic journey over Arthur’s Pass, I decided to call into a NZMCA Park Over Property in Springfield for the night.

It wasn’t until the following morning that I realised just how amazing the views were looking back towards the pass. As the sun began to rise, the first light spilled over the crest of the snow-covered peaks, creating an absolutely spectacular sight.

Not a bad view to wake up to, well, apart from a few early-morning work activities I had scheduled at 6:30. The realities of working full-time while travelling!

Today I towed Neo over Arthur’s Pass, and what a drive it turned out to be. The weather was horrible, with heavy rain for most of the climb, and I ended up stuck behind a slow-moving truck on one of the steepest sections. At one point, the ute lost traction and I had to switch into 4WD to get Neo moving and climb my way out of it. Definitely one of those moments that gets the heart pumping!

But once we made it up and over the pass, everything changed. The rain cleared, the clouds began to lift, and the views across the plateau were absolutely amazing. Video coming soon.

What do you think about this? "Maiden flight of my replacement drone"

I was very privileged to stay in Larry’s front yard, perched right on the cliff edge overlooking the spectacular coastline at Cape Foulwind, Westport.

It couldn’t have been a better location for the maiden flight of my replacement drone, especially after the disappointment of losing my previous one. To top it all off, I was treated to an amazing West Coast sunset, a pretty special way to get back in the air and capture some stunning footage and to see how this thing fly's.

While in Westport looking for a coffee, I called into The West Coast Pie Company. I ended up leaving with a coffee and a couple of pies to try.

Their pies are made using wild game, and it was the first time I’d ever seen and now tasted a hare pie. 🄧

The selection I picked certainly didn’t disappoint. Great pies, packed with flavor, and definitely something a little different from your everyday bakery pie.

Haven’t posted for a while. I've been flat out with work and moving between sites. I’ve got around 40 hours of footage to work through, including some epic shots from the new drone (or should I say drones!). Plenty of content coming soon!
