In August 2026, I wanted to see just how far I could take Andy Ace Photo.

After watching the FIFA World Cup, I realized something: my connections in the sports media world were very limited. So instead of waiting for opportunities, I decided to create them. I spent the month networking with different clubs across Toronto and Ontario, getting out to games, introducing myself, shooting, creating content, and trying to build relationships.

I kept myself BUSY.

Did it lead to paid bookings? Unfortunately, no.

But I did accomplish one goal I set for myself: 100,000+ views on my Instagram page in August. šŸ“ø

That's something I'm proud of, but I also have to admit that I'm burnt out.

I love photography. I love being on the sidelines. I love capturing the action, editing the images, and giving athletes memories from moments they may never get back. But lately, it feels like I'm spinning my wheels without actually moving forward.

Most of the summer sports seasons are wrapping up, and I've already started reaching out to hockey and basketball organizations for the fall and winter. So far, those conversations haven't gone very far either.

Maybe that's telling me that the next chapter needs to be bigger than just trying to book myself as a photographer.

Maybe Andy Ace Photo needs to evolve into Andy Ace Agency.

A sports media agency that doesn't just chase individual bookings, but builds relationships with teams, leagues, athletes, schools, and organizations — while creating opportunities for talented photographers and videographers to actually get paid for their work.

I don't want to build something where I'm the only photographer.

I want to build something where I can eventually say:

"I need three photographers and two videographers for this weekend."

And give talented creators an opportunity to do what they love.

August showed me that I can generate attention.

Now the challenge is figuring out how to turn that attention into opportunity, revenue, and eventually jobs for other creators.

Maybe 100K views wasn't the finish line.

Maybe it was proof of concept.

šŸ“ø Canon’s most underrated button has to be the RATE button.

If you shoot sports, events, weddings, or anything where you’re coming home with thousands of images, you already know the real work starts when you sit down at the computer.

One thing that has completely helped my workflow is rating my best images in-camera while I’m shooting.

Big play? ⭐
Great celebration? ⭐
Perfect action shot? ⭐
Clean portrait? ⭐

Instead of getting home and going through 2,000–5,000+ photos trying to remember which shots caught my attention, I’ve already started the culling process before I even leave the event.

Those few seconds throughout the game can save hours on the PC later.

For sports photography especially, turnaround time matters. The faster I can find the strongest images, edit them and get them into the hands of athletes, teams and clubs, the more valuable my service becomes.

We always talk about cameras, lenses, autofocus, FPS and megapixels…

But sometimes one of the best features is literally just a small RATE button. šŸ˜‚šŸ“ø

Cull on the fly. Edit faster. Deliver faster.

Definitely one of Canon’s most underrated features.

Imagine being an athlete.

You spend years playing your sport. Countless practices. Games. Tournaments. Wins. Losses. Teammates who become family.

Then one day, your playing days are over.

You look back and realize… where are the photos?

No action shots. No celebration after the big play. No photos with your teammates. No images that capture what it actually felt like to compete.

Those are moments you can't recreate.

That's where Andy Ace Photo / Andy Ace Agency comes in.

I'm not just taking pictures of a game. I'm capturing a chapter of your life — the moments you'll want to look back on 5, 10, or 20 years from now.

One day, the jersey gets hung up.

The memories shouldn't disappear with it.

So ask yourself: What would it be worth to relive those memories years from now? šŸ“øšŸ†
