Hello!
I have a bunch of new followers here so I thought I’d introduce myself (and update my previous followers).
I’m Sergej Krivenko, owner/operator of It’s a Thing Imagery. I came by the name when talking to my friends about shooting stuff back in late 2017. We’d say, “Oh yeah, it’s a thing for sure.” when talking about general subjects and it stuck. I started up my business in February of 2018, though I’ve been shooting since 2006. Fast forward 20 years later and here we are!
I’m a photographer, videographer, filmmaker, drone operator, editor, colourist, up-and-coming cinematographer, and a 2nd AC with ICG 669 here in Vancouver, BC. I’ve been known to shoot most things, even a birth once, though funny enough I’m trying to niche down but can’t choose where yet! In the meantime, I’ve been shooting live music, weddings, lifestyle, portraits, branding/EPKs, real estate, and landscapes when time allows. My cameras are two Canon Canada R5IIs, a RED Digital Cinema Komodo-X, DJI Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro. I edit and colour in DavinciResolveStudios because duh😂. I’m also a SHAPE - Camera Rig and Accessories affiliate (peep the link and discount code in my bio)!
You’ll find I’m personable, disciplined, professional yet fun to hang out with both at work and outside too. I’m a quick study, knowledgeable, and great to collaborate with — one of my strengths is helping others bring their projects to life!
Fun fact: I served in the Canadian Navy for 9 years (2012-2021), though I left in 2021 due to being medically released for my PTSD from a ship fire back in 2014. I’m always down to chat mental health as I find it’s super important to do so, especially having lost so many people to battling theirs.
If we’ve worked together before, let’s shoot again! If not, drop me a message or contact me through my site; link to my contact is in my bio. I’m open mid-September onwards with a few days here and there beforehand. Thanks for following and I look forward to creating your thing together!
Cheers,
Sergej
PS thanks for taking a few snaps with my camera Jesse Dickson. It was too beautiful here not to ask that of you!
