I didn’t want a studio… here’s the truth:

When the idea first came up, I shut it down in my mind before it even had a chance. A studio? In our house? Absolutely not. It will be too small! My husband kept nudging me toward it, and eventually I gave in — reluctantly, nervously…

And there were so many what‑ifs.

What if no one books.
What if it’s too small.
What if we lose money.
What if I’m not good enough.
What if our home isn’t “nice enough” to welcome people in.
What if it doesn’t look good.
What if the lighting is too challenging.
How will I fit everything.

It felt like every time I solved one worry, another one popped up. There was so much work — You-Tubing, painting, planning, rearranging, second‑guessing, ordering things, returning things, wondering if I was making a huge mistake. I kept imagining people walking in and thinking, Really? This is it?

But here’s the wild part: the studio has only been open for about six weeks… and already it’s held so many mamas, business owners, and tiny new babies. This little space — the one I was so scared to build — has been filled again and again with warmth, stories, and connection.

And I’m not sure I’ve said thank you enough to him — the one who believed in it long before I did. I’m so incredibly thankful.

So maybe take this as your sign.
Do the thing.
Push yourself out of your comfort zone.
Let the fear sit beside you, but don’t let it stop you.

Sometimes the thing you resist the most becomes the thing you’re most grateful for. 🤍

I hear it often— “I wish I had done a maternity session,” or “I barely have any photos of me pregnant.” And I get it. Pregnancy can feel uncomfortable and not always glamorous. But there is something so incredibly beautiful about this chapter. You’re growing a whole little person, collecting stretch marks that tell your tale, waiting, changing, becoming a parent. These moments are worth remembering, and it’s a joy to photograph them. ☁️🤍
