Baby Xaden 🤍

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to capture this beautiful family again as they welcomed their newest addition. Baby Xaden is the sweetest little guy!
Newborn sessions with toddler siblings are always so much fun. They love being part of the action and often try to steal the spotlight—but that’s all part of the fun. Alara was such a big helper during the session and was so excited to be involved every step of the way.

It was truly a joy to document this special chapter for their family and capture the love they already share with their newest little member. ✨📸💕

Apple blossoms, lilac blooms, and yes… even my tomatoes are flowering too (while still living in the greenhouse and screaming at me to plant them) 🫠🌸🍅

Sometimes when life feels overwhelming, you need to pause and appreciate the little things that bring you joy. For me, that’s wandering around with my camera capturing flower blossoms and the beauty in simple moments.

Life is full of changes, and as I navigate another season of returning to the workforce full time, it may take a little while to settle into a new routine and balance everything again. While I truly enjoyed doing photography full time, I’ve realized I’m more of a people person than I thought, and being away from that connection was beginning to take a toll on my mental health.

I will absolutely still be taking photography bookings for evenings and weekends, and I’ll continue putting the same pride, care, and passion into every session. The only change may be a slightly longer turnaround time than before. Thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business through every season of life — it truly means the world to me.

Their family is growing ✨

I had the privilege of capturing this wonderful family once again as they grow from three to soon-to-be four. I’ve had the honour of documenting this beautiful couple since 2023, back when it was just the two of them and their fur babies. Watching their family grow and being trusted to capture each milestone along the way has been so special.

I’m beyond excited for them as they await the arrival of their next little bundle of joy! We also got lucky with Mother Nature blessing us with a fresh blanket of snow the night before their morning session, creating the most gorgeous backdrop for their maternity photos 🫶

Yes, another crocus post 😅

I played around with some crocuses during golden hour last night. Although they had all closed up and gone to sleep for the evening, I still enjoyed experimenting with the lighting and capturing their beautiful purple colours 😍

I’m sad to say that crocus season will soon be behind us, but excited that it means gorgeous warm sunny days and golden hour evenings are ahead ☀️

✨ Sunny Saturday Crocus Hunt ✨

There aren’t as many blooms out yet as I had hoped, but I’ll definitely be checking back in a few days.

I did stumble across a red ant hill (not quite the find I was looking for 😅) and somehow managed to leave one of my lenses behind… but that just means another trip is in order!

For now, here are a few of the beautiful prairie flowers that have started to bloom — a true telltale sign that spring is here to stay 🌸

✨ Happy Monday, friends ✨

This past year has been full of change and growth for me—both personally and professionally. Since leaving my full-time job to pursue my dream of photography, I’ve realized I’ve outgrown my current business name.

My passion goes beyond just capturing memories and moments—I strive to capture emotion, connection, and the feeling behind both the big and the little moments.

As I’ve grown, it only feels right that my brand grows with me. I want something more authentic and true to who I am, and what better name to stand behind than my own.

It’s still the same girl behind the camera—just a name that feels more aligned with who I’ve become. You will notice my page name changing from Moments by Amanda Joelene to Amanda Joelene Photography in the next little while.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has trusted me to capture their moments so far, and I can’t wait to meet all the new faces in front of my lens 🤍

The look on their faces is exactly how I feel about this weather 🙃

I started the new year with so much optimism—believing this year would be better than the last, with big hopes and dreams for my business in 2026. And then… six days in, the universe threw us a curveball, and that optimism took a hit.

I know God only gives us what He knows we can handle, and I try to remind myself of that when obstacles pop up. I’m still choosing to stay hopeful, trusting that we’re getting all the kinks worked out early so the rest of the year can be smooth sailing 😏

Leaving my full-time job of 10 years last year gave me a lot of quiet time—time to think, reflect, and really figure out what I want to spend my life doing. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and this year I want to pour my heart into capturing beautiful moments. My hopes are to grow as a person, learn new things, meet new people from behind the lens, and continue photographing those who’ve trusted me in the past. Capturing the big and little moments in this crazy thing called life.

If I’ve had the honor of capturing you or your family before—thank you. I hope to keep capturing more memories for you in the years to come as well as capturing some new faces!

And if you’re not up for freezing your butts off outdoors, these cozy in-home sessions are just as magical 🤗
