Melinda Butler Photography My lens follows what my eye can’t let go of— light, beauty, and the quiet pull of raw emotion. Moments held in time, just long enough to be felt.

I capture not just what is seen, but what it means to be there. I've been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember. Some of my fondest childhood memories were slow Saturdays at my grandparents' house, flipping through old photo albums -- learning about the people who came before me through images and the stories that lived inside them. I got my first camera when I was 9 years old, and fr

om that point on, I was always capturing something -- little moments, people I love, places that felt like home. Life took me in other directions for a while, and aside from my iPhone, photography quietly sat in the background for about ten years. But coming back to it now feels like returning to a part of myself I never really lost. Photography, to me, isn't just about what something looks like -- it's about what it felt like to be there. The connection, the emotion, the moment that might otherwise pass unnoticed. That's what I hope to capture for others -- something real, something lasting, something you can feel every time you look back on it. So that the moments we live today can become the stories someone else holds onto tomorrow.

As the Export Showcase wrapped up, I was heading out of the hotel when a familiar, catchy tune caught my ear. I managed to sneak into the Moose & Crown just in time to snap a photo of Josh Janes performing his hit single, Hometown Pride.

The quick jump from a dark room to a bright one left my camera settings a little out of sync, but the result was this pretty cool silhouette shot.

Looking forward to catching Josh live again soon. If you haven’t checked out his music yet, you can find it on all streaming platforms. 🤠🎶

ECMA 2026 — Export Showcase
Hosted by Steve Antle.

The Irish Descendants took the Export Showcase stage with the energy and chemistry that comes from performing together for decades.

One moment that stayed with me was hearing them perform a Stan Rogers song from their upcoming tribute album. Sitting front row, I found myself getting a little emotional. It was one of those performances where the room seemed to quiet down and everyone was simply listening.

Their new 19-track Stan Rogers tribute album will officially launch at StanFest 2026.

ECMA 2026 — Export Showcase
Hosted by Steve Antle.

We opened with Luna Red — a dynamic Afro‑Indigenous R&B/pop artist, dancer, and cultural advocate. The room was packed for her set; so full I had to shoot from the back!

These shots mark the start of the Export Showcase.
