August has always been one of my favourite months, it’s when it really starts to feel like summer. But I feel like we always blink and then it’s gone. I try to savour it as much as I can. Whether it’s spending time with my favourite people or sometimes taking one last trip before September begins. But even though I know our time together nears an end, as it always does, I shake its hand like an old friend and hope to see it again soon.

In twenty years, almost everything from your wedding day will be gone.

The flowers, the cake, the dress folded in a box.

The photographs are what's left. So let's talk honestly about what they cost.

In Ontario, wedding photography runs from a few hundred dollars to well over six thousand.

And that range deserves a real answer: the full day itself, the hundreds of images hand-edited afterward, the gear, the backups, the years spent learning to find light anywhere.

Your wedding day is the one thing you can't reshoot.

That's what you're really protecting.

Somewhere along the way, you probably got comfortable staying behind it.

They connect with the person who made the thing.

The way you talk about your work. The way you move through your own space.

That's what a brand shoot is for.

Not stiff headshots, but honest expression, clean composition, and natural light, following it wherever it leads.

You see one day and one gallery of images.

What's underneath it is months.

It starts with emails and questions and small logistics nobody thinks about until they matter.

Then a timeline built around your family, your venue, and where the light will be at the moment you need it most.

Location visits.

Backup plans for rain, for delays, for the group photo that always runs long. Then the day itself, present from the quiet of getting ready to the last song.

And afterwards, the part nobody sees. Thousands of frames narrowed down carefully.

Deciding which moments make the story. Editing by hand, for hours, so every image feels like it belongs to the same day.

Backed up in more than one place, because these are files you simply cannot lose.

Then it lands in your hands, and none of it looks like work at all.

That's rather the point.

You'll be too busy living your day, and that's exactly how it should be.

So I don't spend a session directing you.

I spend it watching, waiting, standing back until a room settles into itself.

I observe, anticipate, and preserve, because the moment I ask you to perform, the real thing disappears.

You stay present. I'll do the remembering.
