One of my favourite traditions every year is photographing the Back to School BBQ at Oyama Traditional School! 📸❤️

I absolutely love getting to see all the familiar faces year after year and watching how much the kids have grown. It’s such a special thing to be able to capture these little moments and memories for our school community.

What makes it even better is that 100% of the proceeds are donated directly to the school PAC, making it such a wonderful fundraiser that gives right back to our kids and their school.

I’m so grateful to be able to contribute in a way that combines something I love with supporting our little community. 🥹

Hi, I’m Chelsea 🤍

It occurred to me that I spend a lot of time sharing everyone else’s stories on here and very little time telling you anything about the person behind the camera.

So, hi. It’s me.

I’ve been a photographer for 15 years, which still feels slightly impossible to say out loud. In that time, this little career of mine has taken me across Canada and overseas, into some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and into the middle of hundreds of people’s most important days.

I’m based in the Okanagan, BC, but I will very happily get on a plane for a good love story. ✈️

My photography is less about perfectly posed photos and more about the things that actually happened. The way he looks at you when you aren’t paying attention. Your dad trying not to cry. Your best friend losing it on the dance floor. Wind in your veil, ch*****ne spilling, kids running through photos and all the beautifully imperfect pieces in between.

I want you to look at your wedding photos twenty years from now and remember what the day felt like.

A few things about the human behind the camera:

I’m a mom of four. I will choose candid over posed almost every time. I love old country music, moody skies, travelling anywhere that looks like it belongs in a movie, and I’m probably going to get emotionally invested in your wedding before it even happens.

I shoot Nikon, almost exclusively use prime lenses, and yes, there is an extremely good chance I will cry during your vows.

After all these years, I still feel incredibly lucky that people trust me with their stories.

So if you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been here for years, photographed with me, recommended me, flown me somewhere wonderful, trusted me with your babies, families or wedding days—thank you.

I wouldn’t still be doing this without you. 🤍

One of my favourite parts of photographing a wedding actually happens before the wedding day. 🤍

Some weddings stay with you forever, and Chloe & Adam’s will always be one of those for me.

In fifteen years of photographing weddings, I can honestly say this was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever had the privilege of being part of. Every detail was breathtaking, but what made it unforgettable had very little to do with the flowers or the view.

The venue in Malta was unlike anywhere I’ve ever photographed. It was absolutely stunning, and somehow it still wasn’t the best part of the day.

Chloe and Adam are two of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. Their families welcomed me like I belonged there, and by the end of the day it felt like we were all celebrating together rather than simply working an event.

I was also lucky enough to work alongside one of the most talented creative teams I’ve met. A special thank you to the videographers, who were not only incredibly gifted at what they do, but genuinely wonderful people to spend the weekend with. Those are the kinds of teams that make you love this job even more.

Some weddings are beautiful because of where they take place.

Others are beautiful because of the people.

This one was both, and I’ll always be grateful that I got to tell their story. 🤍

The Harrison Tulip Festival was an absolutely breathtaking backdrop for N+J’s maternity photos. This mama braved the acres of flowers with two weeks left to go before welcoming their beautiful baby boy 💙🦋

Six months later… and I couldn’t think of a more perfect moment to come back 💛

With Mother’s Day around the corner, I’m reminded that some of the most beautiful love stories aren’t loud — they’re found in the quiet moments, soft smiles, and the way a child reaches for their mom without even thinking.

This session felt like that. Gentle, warm, and full of the kind of love you can actually feel just by looking at it.

To all the mamas — the ones in the thick of it, the ones healing, the ones loving with everything they have — you are magic 🤍

I’m so grateful to capture these moments again.
