Gratitude doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling right now.

My last big job of the summer was an elopement at Big White with the sweetest couple, Sam and Matt.

We were evacuated a few days before their elopement. With the help of anxiety, intuition and luck I was able to pack all the gear I needed to fulfil my role as their photographer.

I take this role very seriously, and I hate letting people down.

Now, I just had to make sure my brain and body could stay calm, grounded, rested and fueled well, so I could be my best self for this big day.
It was on my mind from the moment we left. Take care of yourself.

We've experienced similar experiences 3 times in the last 5 years. Whether it's rentals falling through, Evac orders, Evac alerts. It's not uncommon to find our family displaced from our homes in August. 😅

And those other times, I did not cope. Constant panic, elevated heart rate, no sleep, no proper food, not enough support.
And that was part circumstantial but also just a part of my experience and something I needed to learn from.

Now, I'm sharing this one sneak peek with you from the bath tub, with a hot coffee while my husband is at the pool with the kids. I feel so supported by others but also supported by myself. At the ripe age of 31 years old, I feel like I'm finally learning how to take care of me.

This is just a but I can't wait to share more as I begin editing. It was thee most perfect mountain elopement.
