Barn Milky Way photo from Oliver,BC. October 13, 2026 at 12:06am. Our solar system is hurtling around the galactic core at roughly 515,000 mph (827,000 km/h), yet it still takes about 230 to 250 million years to complete a single full orbit. This image is a stack of 15 light frames and 6 dark frames to reduce noise, using a 20mm lens, then 166 second exposure of foreground to blend in.

Aurora Oct 4 2026 from Osoyoos, BC. 140am to 2:40am. Northern lights have not been visible here in a while. Your eyes are not sensitive enough to see the colours here most of the time. Hold up your phone or camera on a tripod with long exposure and high ISO to see the colours.
