The sun breaks in the valley not with the roar of more equatorial climes - but gently, like a blanket pulled back from the world.
It reveals a land that feels untouched by human hands despite our very presence being evidence to the contrary, and with comfortable silence a constant companion - we spend our days exploring the valleys waterways and mountaintops, some of us searching for Elk, or for Grayling, while some search for a quiet that has been lost in the cities in an age of buzzing data centers and the constant bombardment of electronic stimuli, the valley reminds us that we need very little to be content.
In a few weeks we will return here, for a yearly hunt that our family has done for as long as I can remember.
To find peace in the silence, and joy in the little moments, as we watch the sunrise and sunset on a quiet world.
