Not a bad way to spend an evening in Kamloops.

We’d been talking about heading up the Mara Trail for quite some time, and finally managed to make it happen. We jumped in my buddy’s Bronco and made our way up, hoping we’d reach the top in time to catch a decent sunset.

One of the things I love about living here is having places like this right on our doorstep. You don’t need to travel far to find somewhere worth exploring, and there’s still so much of the area I’ve yet to see.

Good company, a bit of adventure, and a few photos to remember it by. Pretty good evening if you ask me. 🤘

Scotland has no shortage of incredible things to photograph, but these hairy locals might just be some of my favourite subjects! 🐮🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There’s something pretty special about coming across Highland cows while exploring the Scottish Highlands. They’re full of character, incredibly photogenic, and somehow always manage to steal the show, even with some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world surrounding them.

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours photographing Highland cows on my trips back home to Scotland, and it’s genuinely become one of my favourite things to do with my camera.

From their windswept hairstyles to their curious expressions, they’re an absolute joy to photograph. I’ve had so much fun capturing these characters over the years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

Never underestimate what a proper camera and a 70–200mm lens can do! 👀📸

Spotted these Highland cows in Scotland looking pretty spectacular from a distance, but I figured we could get a MUCH better look.

A little cinematic slow motion later, and suddenly these hairy Scottish icons look like they’re starring in their own wildlife documentary. 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Anyone else think Highland cows might be Scotland’s most photogenic residents?

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the Canadian Rockies. No matter how many times I visit Banff and Lake Louise, there’s always something that makes me want to come back.

Vermilion Lakes is one of my favourite spots for exactly that reason. It’s so easily accessible, yet offers what I consider to be one of the finest views in the Rockies, with Mount Rundle towering over the landscape.

Add a little autumn colour, some sunshine and a calm afternoon, and it’s pretty hard to beat.

I’ve spent a lot of time exploring this part of Canada over the years, and somehow it still manages to stop me in my tracks every time.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited the Canadian Rockies, but somehow they still leave me feeling the same way every single time.

There’s something about being surrounded by mountains on that scale that makes everything else feel a little less important.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of exploring this part of the world. Nor do I think I’ll ever stop pointing my camera at it.

What a place to be. 🏔️
