The medical definition of “newborn” is six weeks. Mine is fourteen days. Both are right — and the difference is the entire point of this carousel.
By week three, she’s a different baby. Beautiful, still yours, but the iconic curled-up “newborn newborn” shots you’ve been saving for months? Already harder. By week four, they’re a different session entirely.
This is why I tell every maternity client the same thing: book your newborn session WHILE you’re pregnant. I hold a tentative date around your due date and adjust once baby arrives. No scrambling. No “can you squeeze us in?” texts at day 8 when nobody’s slept.

Somebody had a big day of… absolutely nothing. 😴

From the tiny bed to the camouflage hat, every little detail was chosen to create a setup that was uniquely theirs. That’s one of my favourite parts of newborn photography—creating images that tell your family’s story before your little one can tell it themselves.
