Having fun editing this week. We have a headshot session we had in studio today to edit, a group drone shot of around 200 new students entering KSR at the University of Alberta to edit and send off and a few exteriors to shoot and one to edit currently for a wonderful local architectural firm.

Buuuutttt....we have been taking creative breaks to edit some of these shots from a dance shoot we had the pleasure of creating!

A behind the scenes look at a creative shoot we did recently. A special thanks to our featured dancer, Miss E, who was the perfect fit for this little project and the inspiration behind its evolution too.

For those of you who don't know my 8 year old is a dancer and Miss E has become sort of a mentor to her. Through getting to know Miss E as a teacher's assistant I was fortunate enough to witness what a wonderfully talented dancer she is!

I began thinking about the photo project known as "Dancers of New York" (a public photography project that features local artists at every subway stop across the city, while also representing the broader, world-class professional dance community found in NYC.)

Could we pay homage by doing dance shoots all over our city of Edmonton?

It was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to unveiling how we merged a World Performers medal winning dancer with some of Edmonton's best spaces and architecture! We may even start offering these packages to graduating highschool and post secondary dancers!

We absolutely loved capturing this project by Chandos Construction ...the merging of Beaver Hills House and Michael Phair Park into one fluid moving space without barriers. The alleyway is used as a connection point rather than a logistical barrier.

The Beaver Hills House Park & Michael Phair Park Renewal project is now open, providing more outdoor space for those who live, work and play in Edmonton’s downtown core.

After two years of renewal work, both parks together now offer improved amenities, sight lines, safety and accessibility. The removal of the dividing wall allowed the City to create a more cohesive space for all Edmontonians to enjoy.

Improvements to this joint space include a brand new washroom facility, the Jasper Avenue Plaza with a reimagined Aboriginal Walk of Honour, a new fire feature with bench seating, reshaped planting beds, new informal seating walls and a bouldering wall. The Heart of the Park now features a central amphitheatre with public seating, a pet relief area and a children’s natural play space with a climbable beaver.
Michael Phair Park includes a new busker stage, seating, landscaping, and park lighting!

Chandos Construction...beautifying our communities one project at a time!

This morning I was dressed and ready to go on my daily morning 5km run when the skies parted and the sun started shining...

So off I went to shoot for our friends over at Chandos Construction in my running clothes because THIS YEAR if we get some sunlight I better get out there and catch up on shooting some exterior projects!!!! 😆

Today's venue: Beaver Hills House & Michael Phair Park in Downtown Edmonton. (Extra points for the very cool climbing wall installation!)

Self employed life has a few advantages for some of the negatives.

Negative: Stressing about networking and making connections past just doing the service.

Positive: Doing that networking while watching the FIFA Portugal vs Spain game while having a sangria mocktail.

Life is about BALANCE 😉😆

Synergy Projects Ltd is at the final stretch on this multi level tenant improvement project that spans across NINE separate floors at the newly renamed National Bank Centre (formerly known as Manulife Place) located here in downtown Edmonton.

This modern workplace was completed following complex demolition and renovations, featuring meeting rooms, amenity spaces, and striking architectural contrast walls. This particular glass wall manufactured in Portugal, in a lovely striking black, is located on tracks that open up to a larger space! 😍
