Tammy and I were out for a road trip or two this past week. Seems like the crops are doing ok and we managed to spot this moose standing in one of them. Taken on August 29, 2026.

I went out tonight and took a few photos with my drone. One is Mirror Lake which is located at the heart of Camrose, Alberta. Highway 13 runs adjacent through the city east to west. The other is the Camrose cemetery. After retirement I worked a few summers in the parks department and they are the ones who are responsible for the upkeep of the grounds. It is a huge job to keep the grass, trim the trees and make preparations for funerals and these employees work hard to keep things neat. Taken on August 20, 2026. Click on the image for full view.

I went out tonight to fly the drone over the soccer fields in Camrose, Alberta. Normally I would have done this back in soccer season as all the fields have lines painted, but, I didn't get around to it this year. I know the employees who do this work hard and take pride in their work and it shows. I ran into a couple of city of Camrose employees who mentioned that there are a few fields that were still in use. Bev and Payton, here you go! Once the football field is done, I will be sure to get over there! Taken on August 7th, 2026. Click on the image for full view.

Yesterday I received a Facebook message asking if I would be able to assist, with my drone, in helping to find a young cow that had wandered off north of Camrose. I went out and met with the owners of the cow and we did some flying in the area. Also went back today for another look. Unfortunately, no luck in locating the cow, however, did spot a couple of moose. Didn't get too low as I didn't want to disturb them. Taken in Camrose County, Alberta on July 15, 2026.

The same field, the same date just a year apart. I didn't go and see if this years crop was canola, but if it is, it is a bit behind last year. Taken on July 12, 2026 and 2025 in Camrose, Alberta.

We had a storm in Camrose, Alberta last night and I was able to get the drone up before the rain and wind started. This footage was edited down from 2 minutes and 30 seconds of original video. After each flash of lightning, I slowed the original down to 1/10th of the normal speed. Taken on July 9, 2026.
