Had a great hike up to get great views from Mont Valin!

Must rotate and watch for the little white specks! This isnt the best image as it was taken with my iPhone at max zoom but it’s proof I saw them.. lol.
Last full day here in the Saguenay Fjords area, and at last, the belugas were spotted. Spent 5 days along the fjords, sea kayaking, at the “best sight”, from high above on the cliff top viewing areas, but nothing. Until finally, at Saint Etiene, wrapping up from a 10 km hike, last ditch effort to take one more look, and I spotted something white from afar. And sure enough, it was a pod of belugas. Must have seen a good 2 dozen or so. There was a paddle boarder out there and oh boy, they must have had the best paddle if their lives. Belugas looked to be all around them even as they tried to move away. Wow wow… I had my binos looking at them and was still quite far away. Didn’t bother with my large lens. Just took the moment in thru the binos.

Did you know this is one of the best lookouts to spot beluga whales swimming through? This is at the Halte de Beluga, in Fjord du Saguenay National Park. Beyond this fantastic boardwalk (and you all know I’m a sucker for a good boardwalk), the 3.5km trail leading to it is so amazing. Unfortunately, this day ( and 3 more tries at different spot) haven’t yet spotted a beluga. I supposed that’s a good reason to come back again.

Found this great little spot along the St Lawrence River coast just north of Tadoussac, called Cap de Bon Desir. Also found a great spot for camping right next door (probably the best camp site so far).

Make sure to watch til the very end… you won’t be disappointed.
As if a beautiful rainbow wasn’t enough, the sunset was almost as spectacular. A double whammy 🌈🌅. When we first arrived in Tadoussac, it was pouring (actually it’d been raining pretty much since leaving Quebec City). Needless to say, ending the evening with this magical rainbow and sunset to a special way to end the night. Such beauty here.

The way out in our zodiac and then….. 🐳🐳🐳
We saw a good dozen or more humpbacks on this amazing day… such magnificence to see and experience!

It’s been a rainy drive up to Tadoussac, Quebec, and this is a good image to reflect it. This is a shot a few weeks back now from Lac Girarad, Quebec. It’s reminds of somberer moments, but still filled with life and nature. Zoomed in with my Sigma 300-600 for an even intimate feel.

Was an awesome trip, albeit very short to Spider Lake in Massassauga Provincial Park the other weekend.
With my trusty Swift Temagami and amazing weather and no bugs, it was the epitome to summer time canoe camping. Too bad I didn’t have my fishing gear.
BTW - my posts will be spotty over the next couple of weeks as I adventure out. More to come.
