The Hunter’s Moon, October’s famous full Moon, is about to light up the night with its stunning glow.

But did you know there’s a fascinating story behind its name?

The Hunter’s Moon is traditionally the first full Moon after the Harvest Moon. Long ago, people used its bright light to hunt animals and gather food before the cold winter months arrived.

WHY DOES IT LOOK GOLDEN OR ORANGE?

When the Moon rises near the horizon, it can appear golden, amber, or deep orange.

This beautiful effect happens because Earth’s atmosphere scatters shorter wavelengths of light, allowing more reddish and orange light to reach our eyes.

It’s a natural phenomenon that makes the full Moon look like a glowing ball of fire!

WHEN AND WHERE TO WATCH

• Look toward the eastern horizon around local moonrise on October 25 or 26.
• The exact full Moon phase occurs at approximately 04:12 UTC on October 26.
• The Moon will appear nearly full for several nights around this date.
• Find a location with a clear view of the horizon for the best experience.

It can be disheartening when establishing simple professional boundaries causes friction. However, holding these standards is vital for both photographers and clients.

•Clear Expectations: Agreements outline exactly what both parties are contributing, whether it’s a monetary rate or a non-cash trade (TFP), ensuring everyone is aligned on deliverables, timelines, and usage rights.

•Professional Respect: A contract isn't about lack of trust; it's a foundation that protects the relationship, the client's event, and the photographer's livelihood.
