Environmental details are meant to “fill in the gaps” and build context to those who weren’t there in that moment of time.

Golden leaves can mean fall season.
Trees swaying can mean it was windy.
A closeup of the lakeshore can show just how close you were to it.

These still images are by no means a priority to your day (after all, it’s the people in the photos that matter the most). But if you’ve ever wondered why there’s some random photo of the sky in your gallery, it isn’t random at all.
Without these quiet and simple moments, the story feels incomplete.

There were so many intentional details to V+M’s intimate wedding but I have to start with the fact that the bride’s 92-year-old grandfather made ALL the florals???!?

These lovers built their day around their relationship: an intimate guest list, a private chef to cater to their foodie palettes, a MATCHA CART, Vietnamese-Indian/Mexican cultural details, decor made by their relatives (like the florals, menu, and name tags) - and have I mentioned that this all took place at a private estate?!?!

Can more couples hire private chefs please 🙋‍♀️ When I tell you the food was so good I couldn’t finish dinner the next day at a wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs 😭

The sun rays were beaming as much as these two were on this beautiful summer day.

C+N made their wedding day theirs; from the engraved napkins, personalized match boxes, ube wedding cake, to the exquisite bouquet. Not to mention the most poetic vows I’ve ever heard 😭

It’s been an honour to be part of their wedding planning process - from taking their engagement photos back in 2024!!! to finally see them tie the knot in the Canadian Rockies.

Most of all, thank you C+N for trusting my guidance and assistance.

As a Canadian wedding photographer, my job requires paying attention to not only the couple, but also to their guests and capturing candids of them.

Often enough, the venues that have the best food, views, and striking details, create the ideal setting for photogenic guest candids. This is because your guests will be exploring the venue when they aren’t seated and anything that lights them with emotion like awe, wonder, and fascination, will always result in a better experience (& candids!)

You really can’t top (ha) the appeal of a restaurant wedding venue + access via gondola + on the summit of a world-class ski resort.

We often recall emotions easily by the mention of locations, and an intentional wedding venue will set the tone for the entire experience.
