I love when my clients have a location in mind for their family session.

This year, we explored the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage.

By starting early in the morning, we had the gardens, heritage buildings, winding pathways, and wide-open spaces completely to ourselves, all before the Southern Alberta wind had a chance to make its usual appearance.

It gave us the kind of quiet, unhurried morning that let us wander the property, let the dogs explore every corner, and gave their daughter, who’s growing up far too fast, the freedom to simply be a kid.

Childhood doesn’t wait. I’m grateful I get to help families hold onto a little piece of it.

Dramatic skies were requested.

Safe to say... someone was listening 💕

Aaron & Kelsie’s engagement session was one of the most unforgettable sunsets I’ve ever photographed. The entire river valley turned shades of pink. The water reflected every bit of it, and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, a flock of pelicans flew overhead.

It was the kind of evening you couldn’t plan if you tried.

This didn’t feel like the beginning of Laura & Devon’s story.

It felt like the celebration of everything they’d already built together.

Surrounded by the people who have known and loved them for years, every part of the day carried a little more weight. From the moment they saw each other during their First Look, to a ceremony and speeches that had hardly a dry eye in the room, the emotion never felt forced.

It simply came from a room full of people who knew exactly what this day meant.

As photographers, we notice a lot of things throughout a wedding day.

What I’ll remember most about this one wasn’t a single moment.

It was how easy it felt for everyone to simply be present with one another.

That’s the kind of wedding that stays with you.
