Good editing takes time.
Some sessions I know exactly where I want an image to go. Other times, I need to step away and come back with fresh eyes.
These photos were a perfect example. We were all so excited about them that I edited them quickly on a Sunday morning so they could be shared. After being away from them for a couple of days, I saw them differently — and I think, better.
That space matters. It helps me see colour, skin tones, consistency and the overall feeling of an image more clearly.
Here, the warmer edit clearly wins for me. It feels more like my work — warm, earthy and connected — and ultimately, photography is very much about feeling for me.
Sometimes good editing isn’t about doing more. It’s about knowing when to step away and come back.
