Paris. A city that feels like home, where the world slows down and it’s just the two of them. We began in a quiet café, sipping tea, letting the day unfold naturally. As we wandered through the streets, they noticed each other in small ways—smiles, glances, gentle touches—and the city seemed to wrap around those moments. Step by step, laughter came, gestures softened, and everything moved with ease. By the end of the day, there was a warmth in the air, a lightness that made it feel effortless, as if we had all shared something quietly joyful together.

A winter wedding in February. Both in their sixties. Both completely certain.
In the church, the light was soft, and the ceremony felt quietly sacred. Afterwards, we found ourselves in a grand, timeless backdrop.
The city carried on outside, while inside the rooms held the quiet of the day, just for them.

We arrived at Emma and Winfried’s home on a Sunday morning in Hasselt.
Coffee was already waiting — we had jokingly said we couldn’t start without it, and they remembered.

We sat in their kitchen first. Talked about their work, their rhythm, the things that matter to them. Emma paints. Her world lives in her studio. Winfried moves through it with her — attentive, observant, steady.

So we photographed them there. In between her canvases, her brushes, the silence of a place where things are made. Nothing cleaned up. Nothing changed for us.

Emma was a little nervous in the beginning. We asked her to stay close to him. To lean into him. And she did.
He held space for her. And later, without saying it, she did the same for him.

By the end, everything had softened. They didn’t have to think about it anymore. They could just be there. Together.

We spent the afternoon with them in a dark wooden cabin, deep in the Ardennes.
Bodies close, tea in their hands, the forest just outside.

Walking into the trees, the day was slow and quiet, just being together the way they always are.
They’re getting married next month.

Later, they wrote a letter to their son — a small presence already with them, tucked close in her belly, part of their story even before the day they commit to each other.

Grateful we could be there to witness it all.

We've rarely felt a moment hold this much emotions. Tears. A lot of them.
And laughter - the kind that comes when people feel safe together.
Family flying in from far away, finally in the same place again.
What we witnessed wasn't just emotion - it was connection, history, love that runs deep. We felt lucky to be there.

Lately, we’ve fallen in love with the Opal Coast.
It’s the kind of place that makes you feel small and humble —
filling you up with space and freedom at the same time.

Playing, laughing, running with these lovely people —
during their engagement sessions —
felt honest. Unforced.

We feel deeply grateful to walk beside them again,
soon, on their big day.

We walked into a morning full of movement, nerves, and little bursts of joy. Her friend brought freshly baked banana bread, still warm, his sister got ready at the kitchen table, and his best friend blew up balloons for the first look. Chaotic, real, and exactly how it should be

We document intimacy — wherever it lives.
This time it lived in a shadowed room,
with two tired lovers and a new life in the corner.
Close. Tired. Evolving.
