Which woman archetype are you in your portraits?

There are four archetypes women commonly fall into and each one defines a completely different direction.

I have created a Legacy Couture Portrait Direction Tool to help women define how they want to be seen, remembered and celebrated in a legacy portrait.

It will reveal your archetype and express it as a visual portrait vision.

It’s free to use. No email required.

No guessing. Just clarity.

“Couture is the art of time, patiently made visible.”

Time is the quiet luxury behind every stitch.

When was the last time you allowed something to take its time?

She stands poised, composed, and quietly powerful — Maude Fealy, captured at the height of the Edwardian era, when elegance was not performative, but lived.

What draws me to Maude is not only her beauty, but her restraint.
The softness of her expression.
The discipline of her dress.
The exquisite pin tucks, lace, and structure of her blouse — decorative, yes, but never excessive.

This photograph was a guiding reference in the design of our Edwardian-inspired pin-tucked blouse at The Vintage Couturière.
Not as costume.
Not as reproduction.
But as translation.

At The Vintage Couturière, we study vintage fashion not to romanticise the past blindly, but to honour its values:
• craftsmanship over convenience
• intention over excess
• beauty built through skill, not speed

Edwardian garments were designed to be lived in, mended, cherished, and worn with dignity. Every tuck had purpose. Every seam was considered. That philosophy remains at the heart of our work today.

Maude Fealy reminds us that true elegance does not demand attention — it commands it quietly.
And that is the spirit we sew into every piece.

Meaning transforms everything it touches.

What does intention look like in the way you dress?

There is a particular kind of luxury found in unhurried moments.
A pot of fragrant tea steeping gently.
Warm scones split by hand, layered with jam and clouds of cream.
Flowers gathered simply, without excess.

This is a ritual I return to often — not as nostalgia, but as reverence.
For the beauty of old-world pastimes.
For the grace of making something slowly, thoughtfully, with care.

High tea is, in many ways, not unlike couture.
It asks for presence.
For patience.
For a refusal to rush what deserves time.

In a world obsessed with speed and spectacle, I find myself drawn ever deeper into these quiet moments — where beauty is understated, craftsmanship is felt rather than announced, and elegance lives in restraint.

This is the philosophy of The Vintage Couturière.
A life — and a practice — shaped by timeless rituals, handmade pleasures, and the enduring romance of doing things properly.
