Sorry Everyone. Caught up in a million things and forgot to post about Sunrise.
I know it's late, but we did know where we were going last week. Social Sunrise this Saturday will be held at Swansea Heads. We will meet at the car park at the end of Lambton Pde at 5:15am. It's a short walk to the beach and headland area. The tide is expected to be about 1.3m, but it is reasonably sheltered, so the waves shouldn't cause an issue. The sunrise itself is at 6:15am.
We will go to the Baker's Den Bakery Cafe just across the Swansea Bridge for Breakfast.
Next week we will be going to Sheathers Wharf at Koolewong.

Social Sunrise this Saturday, 22nd August, will be held at the waterfront next to the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club. The park can be accessed via the walkway off Grace St, Mannering Park. We will meet at the sailing clubhouse at 5:30am. The tide is high about 6:31, and the Sunrise is at 6:25am. There are a couple of jetties to shoot and some wildlife, so a longer lens may be useful.
We will go to the Corner Cafe in Mannering Park for Breakfast. They open at 6am.
The following week we will go to Swansea Heads

Social Sunrise this Saturday, 15th August, will be held at Killcare Beach. We will meet at the surf club at 5:30am. The last time we were there, the sand had risen up the beach, so it will be interesting to see what it is like now. The low tide is at 5:07am, so the rocks will be easy to access. The swell is slight at 1.1 m, and Sunrise itself is at 6:33am
We will go to the cafe at Hardy's Bay for breakfast, as they open at 6:30.
The following week, we will go to the waterfront next to the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club.

Sorry for the delay
Social Sunrise this week will be held along the waterfront at Woy Woy. The best parking space for us all is the end of Allfield St next to the walkway. It's an easy walk to the waterfront and the bench seats for the droners. High tide at Woy WOy was at 4:30, so the water should be up. There are plenty of jetties and open waterfront for shots. There are plenty of birds, so you may like to bring the telephoto lens as well. The sunrise is at 6:40 am.
For breakfast, the cafes in Woy Woy open at 8 am, so we will go to our usual cafe at the Mall on Ocean Beach Rd.
Next week we will keep it to this end of the coast and go to Killcare Beach. I know we were there a few weeks back, but most of the group was out in the country.

Social Sunrise this Saturday, 1st of August, will be held at the north end of Shelly Beach. We will meet at the carpark in Bombora View. It is between the caravan park at Toowoon Bay and the golf course. It is an easy walk down the stairs to the beach from there. A short walk north to the rocks, or just stay on the sand. Low tide is at 4am, so the tide will be rising, but the rocks should still be accessible. The sunrise itself is at 6:45am. The surf is expected to be about 1.5m
We will go to Shelly Beach Surf Club for Breakfast.
Next week we will be going to Woy Woy Waterfront, meeting at the Macmasters Rd entrance to the walkway and waterfront.

Social Sunrise this Saturday will be held at Saratoga Waterfront on Broadwater Drive. See the linked map location. We will meet at 6am on the road near the entrance to the waterfront. We have not been here before; the water should be rising to a high tide. The sunrise is at 6:51am. There does appear to be quite a stretch of waterfront to explore, and the walkway heads back toward Kincumber.
We will go to the Kincumber Post Cafe for breakfast at 123 Avoca Drive, Kincumber. They open at 7am
Next week we will go to North Shelly Beach Dog Beach.

Social Sunrise this week will be held on Saturday, the 18th of July, at Killcare Beach. We will meet at the surf club at Killcare Beach at 5:45am. The low tide is at 6:26, so it's the perfect time to visit the beach to get the rocks. The surf is predicted to be moderate at 1.3m, and the sunrise is at 6:55am. It may be a good day for the adventurous to explore the rocks out front.
We will go to the Hardy's Bay Cafe for Breakfast.
The following week we will go to the waterfront at Saratoga. The walkway to the waterfront can be found at 94 Broadwater Drive, Saratoga. It is high tide, so the water should be up.

Social Sunrise this Saturday, 11th July, will be held at Captain Cook Lookout. We will meet at the carpark at Captain Cook Lookout at 6am. There are several spots you can get to for interesting shots. The lookouts themselves, plus several areas along the path and stairs going down to Winnie Bay. The Sunrise is at 6:57am
We will go to The Bees Knees Eatery at Copa for Breakfast; they open at 6:30am.
The following week we will be going to Killcare Beach. The sand is now higher than I have seen in years.

Social Sunrise this Saturday, the 4th of July, will be held at Hargreaves Beach. Park near the walkway to the beach on Elizabeth Drive near the walkway to the beach. We will meet at 5:45am.
Low tide is at 5:11am and the surf is expected to be low at just under a metre. Sunrise itself is at 6:57am. The rocks here are amazing, so it is well worth the effort to walk along the beach to get to them.
We will go to Lou's Cafe on 309 Main Rd, Toukley, for Breakfast.
Next week we will go to Captain Cook Lookout. Bring a long lens as Birds and Whales can be caught from here as well.

Sunrise 27th June 2026 from the waterfront at Point Clare. It was Social Sunrise, and I was with quite a few other photographers capturing a beautiful Sunrise. The early light was beautiful, but it was just after the sun rose that the sky really came alive. This is a 4-minute exposure with the Nikon Z6II and the 15mm Laowa lens. I used a 3-stop medium grad filter with a 15-stop ND to get the exposure time. The ISO was 100, and the aperture was f5.6. I love the look of the clouds during these long exposures.
