Christmas 2026 🎄

Christmas on our new property has been the best campsite yet 👌🏽

This is livin - quiet moments enjoying family and learning to slow down 🤍

We hope you’ve all had a fabulous Chrissy with the fam. We’ve got a few more weeks off work but we’re starting the internal walls today so no more lazy days for us for a while

All we want for Christmas is….. some bedroom walls please (no pressure Mick 😉)

Nah all jokes aside we might not have internal walls yet - or even bedrooms but hey we’re livin our best lives and making crazy hectic memories together 🤪

Looks like the big man has managed to find us and I know we’re going to have three happy teens tomorrow morning and two extremely spoilt puppies🎅

Our first Christmas in our new home is going to be a rippa 🏡 Looking forward to a big couple of days with our favourite people in the world and of course ticking a few jobs off the list ✅

Who’d of thought we’d be calling the Ningaloo home for two months!

Oh how our days have changed. Now they sound a little like this…

☀️ Wake up and see a glass off every morning
🎣 Pack the boat and snorkel/ fish in our fav spot until lunch
🥘 Drive to the point and cook lunch on the beach
🎣 Fish some more and swim a little more, sometimes with sting rays and sometimes with turtles 🐢
🚤 Relax in the afternoon with a book or go for a cruise in the boat and teach the kids how to drive
🌅 Start cooking the catch of the day and watch the sunset together on the beach

Happy 15th Wedding Anniversary to us 🍾

Look at how baby faced we were!! 😆

Here’s the roller coaster story of our wedding 🤣 We’d been together for 5 years but had known each other for 11 years. We planned it in 6 weeks! We invited all our friends and family to join us if they were able. We couldn’t afford the massive wedding with 100 guests at the time so we travelled up the east coast from NSW to QLD in our old red Toyota Four Runner filled to the brim with everything we needed for our ceremony and reception. We then caught the ferry over to Hamilton Island lugging everything we had including our fresh flowers for the bouquets 💐

We were supposed to get married on the beach but there had been a wild storm a few days earlier that had left the beach looking battered so we were married in the chapel. It rained the morning of and we were preparing to have a wet day of it but the sun came out later in the day and left everything looking lush and green.

I had my hair done as cheap as I could at the hairdressers, my make up done by my girlfriend. Mick had gone out with the boys the day earlier on the go karts and kayaks and absolutely fried himself in the sun so when I walked down the aisle he literally looked like a lobster 🦞 I was like OMG he’s going to be bright red in the photos 🤦🏼‍♀️

We held our reception at Toucans and there happened to be live music that night Woohoo!!! The gent singing/ playing piano asked us for our first dance request so we picked ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ by Savage Garden.

We had 19 people at our wedding and enjoyed 10 days of bliss soaking up everything Hamilton Island had to offer ☀️🌊⛱️🏝️

Oh the memories 🥰 Here’s to another 15 years 🥂

Ashton is living his best life! Life on the road suits Ashton to a tee! He has a love for travel unlike anything we’ve ever seen. He’s the first to greet people and the first to ask them if he can come out with them on their boat 🤣🤣

If you’ve met Ashton along the way, I’m sure you have a story to tell 🤣

📢 We think this is the most underrated campsite in EXMOUTH! We talk to so many travellers who gave MESA a MISS but we think it’s a MUST!

10 reasons why 👇🏽

🏖️ Beach access - you can drive your car onto the beach and enjoy the day with or without your boat 👌🏽
🚻 Mesa campground has drop toilets and you don’t have to walk a km to get to them!
🌅 The sunsets are epic! Head up to the top of the dunes and soak all that goodness in 🙌🏽
💨 The dunes provide cover from the wind so if the wind starts to pick up on the beach, you know when you get back to camp you’ll be protected… no crunch in your lunch!
🧹 The campsite is maintained well and the facilities are extremely clean!
💰 The campsite is a National Park campground so you save on MULA
🚹 Camp host is amazing and if you agree to pay the camp host tax, they might even share some of their expert fishing knowledge with you 🤫
🎣 The fishing is epic!
🤿 Snorkelling is great and even better when you head further out to deeper waters 🐠
📍 Lastly the location is close enough to Exmouth so you can refill and stock back up before heading to a camp further away YEW 🤙🏽

We recommend staying at MESA first and then working your way through the campgrounds further south 🤙🏽
