Craving more locations with character 🤎 this property was incredible PERRI BEITH~ Gold Coast ~ Interior Design.

One thing that drives me crazy about the Gold Coast is how hard it is to find beautiful spaces to hire that actually have personality.

So many big, beautiful homes… but the same white walls, timber finishes and neutral interiors we’ve seen a hundred times.

Where are the homes with history? Rich colours? Ornate details? Old stone, dark timber, wallpaper, arches, tiles, texture, spaces that feel like they’ve lived a life.

Give me European. Give me vintage. Give me slightly eccentric. Give me a home that tells a story.

Right at the beginning of my maternity photography career.

If you had told me then where my business would be today, I wouldn’t have believed you.

The photographer who took these was so unsure of herself, constantly questioning whether she had a place in this industry.

Turns out, she did.

Over 20 hours of hand sewing and approximately a thousand pricks into my fingers went into creating this top and I’d do it again.
Editorial photography is so much more than the final photograph. It’s the idea, the sourcing, the styling, creating pieces from scratch and obsessing over all the tiny details until what was in my head finally exists in front of me.

There are so many hours that go into a shoot before I ever even pick up my camera.

But this is the part I love. I don’t just want to photograph something beautiful, I want to create it.

First time taking The Editorial Mother interstate ✈️ SYDNEY.

Would you believe me if I told you almost nothing went to plan? 😅

Locations I’d scouted were suddenly closed off, the weather was moody, windy and the ocean choppy. And some of the concepts I’d spent weeks planning simply weren’t possible.

But I didn’t panic. I pivoted.

There’s always going to be room for things to go wrong in business. I’ve learnt that growth isn’t about everything going perfectly it’s about learning to adapt, trust your instincts and know that when things don’t go to plan, you’ll figure it out!

And looking at these images now, you’d never know they weren’t Plan A.

This look might just be one of my favourites from the entire shoot.

Our model Marion was the most beautiful soul and an absolute dream. She brought such a calm, generous energy to the day and trusted every idea, adjustment and last-minute change.

I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful person to bring this vision to life with us.
