I was uploading a couple of galleries today and realised that my SD card still had some photos of my third baby I’d taken more than 2 years ago.

I get inspired and whip out the camera sometimes and often forget to upload them.

Anyway, this photo came out and I was instantly transported back to that moment…

Why am I telling you this?
Because this TURD of a child is going through all the feels right now, the battle is constant and my sanity is questionable. He whinges from the moment he wakes, demands food then refuses to eat it, cries if I dare to leave his vicinity while he’s playing with his cars and I can’t understand what he’s saying and that’s MY problem….can you believe it? 🤪

So this photo came up and I couldn’t believe how small and vulnerable he was. It made me realise how much he’s changed in 2 years.
A reminder…”this too shall pass” - so take the god damn photos ✨

Some photos of some gorgeous families I’ve photographed recently… 🫶🏻
Anyone who’s followed me for a while knows I am chronically baaad at posting regularly…despite constantly being told it’s essential to be posting regularly 😬
I. Just. Can’t. Do. It.

Annnnnd bloody school holidays - they sap my energy, make me question whether I’m fit to be a mum and I’ve come to realise I really don’t like ‘playing.’ Not ideal when you have 3 kids, you know?

So there’s my truth.

Not proud of it, but also, it’s not my ‘thing’ to fluff up my reality.

Another truth; I LOVE meeting new families and making certain moments stand still through my photos.

Another school holidays - almost at a close. Those who know me or who have been following along for a while will remember that school holidays are not my favourite time of year.
The past two weeks had me on the floor of the shower crying, more than once 😂
It’s a muddle of trying to be ‘present’ with the 3 kids, finding activities to do, trying to work (for money!)….Because this sweet arse parenting gig don’t pay the mortgage, arguing repeatedly about screen time -(this is the hardest part for me), and feeling like a hopeless mum….👈🏼 this last point largely based on the excessive screen time, which sometimes I either feel helpless to control, or I’m choosing my sanity over my children’s frontal lobe development 😬
Either way, it’s a sh*tstorm.

SO, to counter my negativity 😆 here is the 2nd part to this little family’s shoot, who are still young & have yet to navigate the school holiday period, BUT who will hopefully pull it off with more grace and poise than me 🙏🏼

This was a sleepy session 🥱 with the cutest little bundle who just wanted to shut her eyes, despite our constant prodding 😆 I left with serious hair envy 🫶🏻

Another amazing family I’ve shot twice now. I LOVE coming back for another session a year later and seeing how the kids have grown. You spend hours staring at those faces on your computer screen as you edit, picking up the finer details… so don’t think it’s weird if I can notice the extra freckles on your child’s nose or how thick or long their hair has gotten.. 😂 It’s why you’ve asked me to capture these photos in the first place, remember? ✨

That school holiday grip got me again, as it always does.
Thinking about what to do with the kids, not wanting to spoil them too much, not wanting to spend the big bucks on 101 holiday programs and activities, feeling guilty because the kids have watched 97 hours of TV in a 24 hour period. Blah blah blah, the list goes on…
AND to get to the point - it leaves me with 0 motivation to post about the lovely families and hilarious kids I get to photograph.

So here is a very belated session of a beautiful family I’ve had the pleasure of shooting 3 times now ✨

Aimee and I went to high school together. She moved to a different school at some point, but before that we were smoking ciggies down the side of the community library before the bell went.
So bizarre to think that 25 years later, we’re sharing another moment…
No ciggies this time, but a whole lot of love for bubba Max ✨
