OfOliver Oliver Minnett’s photography is a mix of spontaneous timelessness with a focus on physical form and beauty. He spends most of his time shooting film on beaches.

His bright use of colours and strong focus on lighting create a broad body of work. Oliver is a third generation photographer with a background in digital and content production, former creative director for visual collective Voena.

Last night I was fortunate to get to host what I believe is one of the most important workshops I’ve ever created. “Working with talent”. I feel like so much advice is thrown around without engaging with the people on the other side so I want to thank and for sharing there experiences.

Big thanks to and for helping me put this together and to .anz for organising my kit.

Also to who gave me that cable and I’ve been yet to write some thoughts on it. TLDR, it doesn’t fail and I’ve gone through around dozen other cables, and have never had an issue with this one.

Most photographers blame the wrong part of the shoot.

They say it must have been the lighting, or the location, the camera, or the talent, but often it’s as simple as having not spent enough time, effort, or energy on the part that matters most: direction, communication, trust, and preproduction.

That is what my workshop on Thursday the 28th is built around.

It is the first in a series on creating incredible work.
