My clients’ biggest problem after a shoot?

Too many good photos. Can’t choose. Absolute nightmare. Devastating.

That’s it. That’s the only complaint.

Swipe to see everything I take off your plate before we even get there.

Also. One month left in the financial year. A personal branding shoot is a legitimate business expense. Your accountant will not be mad. Surely.

That money is leaving your account one way or another. It can go to the tax office. Or it can come back as a gallery full of photos you’ll use for the next year or so.

Don’t give it to the ATO. Give it to me. 😬

Always grateful for client who trust my vision 😍😬

I’ve been doing a lot of nervous system work lately. The kind where you slowly realise how much you were carrying.

So when I read questionnaire and he described the person who comes to him, someone who’s tried everything, who’s looking for the way back to themselves, I had to put it down for a second.

That’s ME right now.

He's a chiropractor, a kinesiologist, a breathwork facilitator, and a ceremonial practitioner. People come to him when they've exhausted other options. His work requires people to hand over something most of us guard closely - control over the body, the breath, the places we haven't let anyone in yet.

His whole practice runs on one thing before anything else happens. People have to feel safe.

That became my brief. Not impressive. Not clinical. Not performing expertise. Just - SAFE

And then I asked him to get in the pool.
It was raining. The water was freezing. He didn’t hesitate.

Face half-submerged. Eyes open. The reflection underneath him, the same image inverted. Exactly as I planned.

He teaches people how to surrender. Clearly he’s not just talking about it.

The brief was clear, the shot list was done. I knew exactly what I was going for.

Still held my breath when I showed her.

She liked it, obviously. I planned the whole thing 📸😄

Funny thing about the people who don’t like having their photo taken. They’re always my favourite clients.

Sarah’s first email to me:

“I’m not a huge fan of having my pic taken. My last one is 20 years old. So if I’m going to do it, I want photos I love. Photos I’m happy to use for another 20 years. And your portfolio is full of amazing work.”

No pressure then, Sarah. 😄

Her text straight after the shoot:
“You told me it would be fun. I didn’t believe you. It is fun.”

One of the reasons why I love what I do. The people who swear they’re the world’s worst subject always leave proving themselves wrong.
