so here’s the thing winter sessions are honestly such a win if you’re not a sunrise person 😅

the light is beautiful from around 2–3pm, beaches are way less crowded, and it’s usually not as windy as summer. plus… layers, chunky knits, beanies it all looks cosy 🥹

There are so many reasons I love family photography and one of the biggest is my returning families. I first photographed this beautiful family back in ’22 when their third baby was just a week old. It was a windy beach day and I even offered to reschedule, but I remember thinking what a rock and roll mum she was for braving it anyway.

A year ago I probably would have delayed letting the kids ditch their cute outfits and run straight into the water. Now I know better and I know this mum does too. The photos she will treasure most are not the polished ones. They are the real sweet moments of her girls having the absolute time of their lives, sandy wet bumps and all.
