📍 Spirit Island, Jasper National Park

Even on a cloudy day, this place completely blew me away.

The water was so still, so blue, and the mountains surrounding it made it feel like something out of a painting. It's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever photographed 💙🏔️

I'll be honest though... you only get about 15 minutes at the viewpoint, so I was absolutely sprinting around trying to get all my photos before it was time to leave 😂📸

🚤 How to get there:

✨ The most popular option is a boat cruise across Maligne Lake from Jasper. That's what I did and it's by far the easiest way.

✨ You can also canoe or kayak yourself to Spirit Island, but be prepared — it's a long paddle across one of Canada's largest and most scenic lakes.

✨ Tours to Maligne Lake and Spirit Island are available from Jasper if you don't have your own car.

💡 Good to know:

✔️ Spirit Island is only accessible by water
✔️ Book boat cruises in advance during summer
✔️ Allow at least half a day from Jasper
✔️ Bring a camera — trust me, you'll need it 😍

One of those places that somehow looks even better in real life than it does in photos.

Here’s the perfect 2-week South Island loop starting and ending in Christchurch:

📍 Twizel (3 nights)

– Base for Mt Cook National Park hikes and lupins in Lake Tekapo (late Nov/early dec)

📍 Queenstown (3 nights)

– Adventure capital! Zip lining, epic views & make sure you visit Ferg Burger!

📍 Te Anau (2 nights)

– Day trip to Milford Sound = must-do. One of the most magical places on Earth

📍 Wanaka (2 nights)

– Climb Roy’s Peak, chase waterfalls & enjoy this chill lakeside town

📍 Fox Glacier (1 night)

– Check out the glacier (if it’s showing, wasn’t out for me!) and Lake Matheson

📍 Hokitika (1 night)

– Chill coastal stop with wild beaches, glow worm walks and the Hokitika Gorge

📍 Christchurch via Arthur’s Pass (2 nights)

– Scenic alpine drive back through the mountains ⛰️ Stop by at Castle Hill

New Zealand completely ruined my expectations for beautiful landscapes 😍🇳🇿

I knew New Zealand would be beautiful, but I genuinely wasn't prepared for just how incredible it would be. From dramatic mountain peaks to turquoise lakes and epic fjords, it's easily one of the most stunning countries I've ever visited 🌿🏔️

These are 5 places I'd love to experience again for the first time:

🏔️ Aoraki / Mount Cook
Home to New Zealand's highest mountain and some of the best hiking trails in the country.

🚢 Milford Sound
One of the most breathtaking places I've ever seen. The boat cruise is 100% worth it.

🥾 Roys Peak
A challenging hike near Wanaka with one of the most iconic views in New Zealand.

💙 Lake Tekapo
Famous for its unreal blue water, mountain backdrop and incredible stargazing.

🌸 Lake Tekapo Lupins
If you visit during lupin season, the colourful flowers around the lake make the scenery even more magical.

New Zealand is one of those places that truly lives up to the hype ✨
