Well, what an amazing adventure!!! I was asked over a year ago by at the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra to create short films for the student composers in the Australian Composers' School to write a score for.
Here is the 5 minute result... please take a moment to honour the work of all these talented people!
Guided by the amazing Jessica Wells and Matthew Hindson the composers did an amazing job of delivering the story for these almost silent films. This was the first one, "Opportunity"... a script I'd had in my head for years but knew I'd never find suitable stock music for. Well, how about a custom score and the whole TSO orchestra playing for it then??? Yes please!!!
The four composer were amazing. I'm sure Wu, Georgia Scott and Tom Misson will release their own versions, but in the end I had to choose just one, so here is the final one from Angus Davison.
The actor is Aaron Burt appearing in pretty much his first film. Thanks to José Navarro, Ben Raynor for assisting and Finn Clarke for the awesome location recording and of course Lilly Harris for lots of behind the scenes and script supervising/assistant directing. Thank you Rose Ottavi Kokkoris for your help and your mum's house!
Donald Bate did orchestral recording and engineering and of course Kim Waldock for pulling all the final pieces together to get it recorded. Michael Gissing did audio post and SFX.
