Finally, Orion makes an appearance in the Southern skies. This is only 250 stacked shots through the Astro filter, of the Great Orion Nebula on the Dwarf 3 telescope - and this is only the RAW version. I have another shoot planned for tonight when I can finally megastack all the layers I want to put together. The magic is yet to be unfolded. 🌌✨

I finally finished up on a project that took a lot greater understanding of mosaics and sectioned-captures for a mega-mosaic. I wanted to stitch together the pieces using an app, but the app didn't allow for merging of stars, just putting the files next to each other.
It might be the smallest of all the constellations, but at a hefty editing size of over 8gb, mid-edit size of 350mb and final size of ~80mb, it's far from small. This is Crux - no frills edition. 🌌✨

I've been working on this for months, never knowing if I'd actually be able to release a series. The weather has stifled my efforts but ever clear night I'm out there with the scope. It's an ongoing thing, but here's the prelude for it. Lots of DSOs, a mountain of data, upload schedule TBA. Just know that it's "in progress". Clear skies and I'll see you in the next one. 🔭🌌

If you have an ordinary telescope, you at least have a chance. Through the Dwarf, most planets appear as little more than bright discs of light. It helps to know what you want to get out of your telescope, and know what to buy and thus the results to expect. 🔭🌌

My recent tilt into astrophotography taps an interest that I've had since before I knew what stars and planets were. The tool that I've employed for this task (capture of deep space objects in the night sky) is the Dwarf 3.
Early results are quite encouraging, and will only improve as I have more exposure to this great little compact smart telescope.
