The last time I entered the Pano Awards was back in 2020. This year it was a last-minute decision, and let’s just say the image selection process was more “that’ll do” than “carefully curated masterpiece.”
Somehow, I managed to walk away with three bronze awards that year. Fast-forward to now, and after a bit of a hiatus, I’ve decided to have another crack at it… and scraped my way to a GOLD!
Clearly, leaving it a few years between entries is the secret. Either that, or beginner’s luck has finally kicked in.

Travelling south and catching the last of an incredible wildflower season - anyone else get amongst it?

I stopped - on average - once every hour, jumping out to take photos of all the colours, spreading as far as the eye could see. It really was amazing.

My travelling companions were not so enthralled at the floral expanse … or maybe they were just annoyed at all the stops.

I shot this a long time ago using an old film camera; on a foggy, early morning across the bypass that runs parallel to our home.
Some say film of the past is now the future. No AI, no metadata, just a piece of plastic with some crystals.
I’m in.

I don’t get down south much anymore but managed to visit to Meelup the other day, it was nice to see this beach again after so many years away.

I was driving between Bunbury and Perth when I spotted the sun just hitting the tops of the pine forest.

Naturally, I did what any sensible person would do… pulled over, unpacked the drone, and started flying it around.

I was thinking, “These are going to look amazing with that beautiful sunlight coming through!”

Fast forward to Lightroom… and, well… turns out I was wrong.

The sunlight just wasn’t doing it for me, so I decided to try black and white. And surprisingly… I really liked them.

Sometimes you start with one idea and end up somewhere completely different.

Back on the road heading south and chose Indian Ocean Drive as the Brand Highway was HEC-TIC!
This is one of the scenic stops off the coast of Cervantes (or as my travelling companions exclaimed “are we stopping AGAIN!)

Well, I think I’ve cracked the code…

My last post absolutely smashed it, so I must be doing something right. Which obviously begs the question… is it time to hang the camera up? 🤷🏽‍♂️

I mean, with the stats I’m getting, surely someone’s going to be pulling me into the office for a serious conversation soon…

Here’s another one that’s definitely going to break yet another Instagram/Facebook record. 😬
