Inspired by Life Photography Life doesn't need to be perfect. Just remembered. Hi, I’m Samantha — the photographer behind Inspired by Life Photography.

I specialise in capturing real moments and genuine connection, creating images that feel like you — full of laughter, love, and the people who matter most. My sessions are relaxed, fun, and easy-going, because the best photos happen when you’re comfortable, being yourself, and simply enjoying the moment. No stiff posing — just real life, beautifully remembered. Inspired by Life Photography is about memories made visible — the honest, joy-filled moments you’ll want to hold onto for years to come.

This photo popped up in my memories today.

I created it during COVID, and looking back, I can definitely see all the things I would do differently now! 😄

As difficult as that time was, one positive that came from it for me as a photographer was having the time to learn new skills. Before COVID, I knew very little about creating composite images, fantasy portraits, or digital artwork. Like many people, I suddenly found myself at home with extra time on my hands, so I started watching tutorials, experimenting in Photoshop, and practising whenever I could.

This was one of the very first fantasy composites I created. At the time, I was incredibly proud of it, and I still love the imagination and creativity behind it today. What I notice now is how much I’ve learned since then and how far my editing skills have come.

It’s a good reminder that growth doesn’t happen overnight. Every new skill starts somewhere, and every step along the way teaches us something valuable

I’ve always photographed pets… because pets are family too 🐾💛

Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, horses, reptiles… if they’re loved, they’re welcome.

(Except spiders. 😳😂
I’m sorry… I know they deserve love too, but I prefer my spider photography done from several suburbs away.)

Whether you’d love beautiful portraits of your cheeky puppy, your elderly cat, your horse, your feathered best friend, or simply the connection you share… pet photography is something close to my heart.

I also offer sensitive end-of-life pet photography.

Because sometimes our time with them feels far too short… and having gentle, meaningful photographs of the love, the bond, the little details, can become incredibly precious.

No pressure. No fuss. Just capturing them as they are… beautifully remembered.

If you’ve been thinking about having your pet photographed, I’d love to chat 🐾

Sometimes a little bit of magic starts right in the studio ✨

This gorgeous little girl really was sitting inside a lace teepee setup in the studio, but everything around her was created afterwards to turn the image into a dreamy whimsical paddock scene. 🌸

Originally she was wearing a bright blue dress, but we softly changed the colour to a pastel tone so it blended beautifully with the flowers, golden light and fairytale feel of the image.

I love how creative photography can be. One simple studio setup can become something that looks like it belongs in a storybook. 💕

You don’t always need to travel to a beautiful location to create magical memories… sometimes a little imagination is all it takes.

From a simple studio photo with a black backdrop… to this. 🎶✨

I absolutely love being able to create something a little magical and cinematic from an ordinary photo. Dad already had the personality and the smile — we just gave him a stage worthy of the performance. 😊

This image was created from a studio portrait and transformed into a dramatic live concert scene with lighting, atmosphere and energy. Proof that you don’t always need an amazing location to create something exciting. Sometimes a little imagination goes a long way.

Accordion players deserve rockstar treatment too. 🎹🎤

Today, take a moment to realise how rich you truly are.

The people you love, the health you have, and the time you’ve been given are gifts money can’t buy.

Grateful hearts notice the treasures that are already right in front of them.

This gorgeous girl is my dog Daisy 🖤🤍

I’ve put the original photo beside the edited version because I wanted to show something a little different.

We haven’t changed Daisy at all.
Same Daisy. Same face. Same fluffy ears. Same beautiful expression.

All that’s been changed is the background and surroundings.

I love that a single photo can become something completely different without losing the thing that matters most… them.

Whether it’s a pet, a child, a family photo or an old treasured image, sometimes a simple change of setting can create something really special.

Our pets are such a big part of our lives and stories, and I had fun creating this one for my girl 🐾✨

If you've ever looked at one of your own photos and wondered what could be done with it… sometimes the possibilities are bigger than you might think.

What happens when photography, digital art, Photoshop, a little AI… and a mushroom I photographed while walking the dog all come together? 🍄🐶✨

This gorgeous girl went from sitting on a chair in her lounge room… to sitting in a magical fairy world on a giant mushroom! 💗

I absolutely love creating images like this. A touch of photography, a touch of digital art, a little Photoshop magic, a sprinkle of AI… and fun fact… the mushroom was inspired by a real mushroom I photographed while out walking Daisy 🐶🍄✨

And here’s the cool part… you don’t even have to come to the studio (although you absolutely can 😊). Sometimes I can create something magical from a digital photo you already have.

Taking something ordinary and turning it into something that feels like it belongs in a storybook is just so much fun.

And before anyone asks… yes, that beautiful smile is all her 😊

Would your child love something magical like this? ✨

So the other day I was looking through a drawer and came across an envelope full of old photos.

Honestly… it felt a little bit like finding treasure 💛🧡❤️

Seeing those memories again, holding them in my hands, remembering moments and people from years gone by… it reminded me just how important printed photos really are.

Why am I sharing this?

Because I really want to encourage you to print your photos.

You might not think it matters much right now… but one day it will.

One day your grandchildren might ask what you looked like when you were young… or what their parents looked like as kids… and you’ll have something real to pull out and show them.

I still remember when digital cameras first came out and photos were stored on floppy disks 💾 It was so exciting at the time 💗

But technology changes. I don’t even own a computer that takes floppy disks anymore… which means I can’t access some of the photos I took back then 😕

So please… print your photos.

Because memories are too precious to leave at the mercy of changing technology ❤️
