Mother’s Day is coming up, though a good gift rarely needs strict scheduling.

This was given for a 70th birthday — from husband to wife — with Fergus taking centre stage.

Thoughtful, composed, and undeniably photogenic. Proof, if it were needed, that intellect and good looks can coexist. God, I could be a comedian (not) lol.

M O T H E R' S D A Y is approaching, which means it’s time to once again answer the age-old question: “What do you get for the woman who insists she doesn’t want anything?”

Well, you could risk another scented candle… or you could finally acknowledge who her real favourite child is. (Yes, the one with four legs and absolutely no intention of helping with the washing up.)

H U G O | T H E H A N D S O M E

Oooh la la. There must be something French in the air as another French Bulldog came to my studio. That is the second one this month! As you can see, this young boy is full of the delightful character of the classic Frenchie - affectionate, playful and intelligent. He did everything asked of him, including chairing his own board meeting - take a look at that photo lol!

Hugo, you were a total delight and I hope your photographs light up your family's home for many, many years to come.

T U R B O | T H E T E R R I F I C

Turbo is a New South Welshman and originally a Rescue. He's one of the lucky ones, adopted by his doting mum and dad and he came with them to Perth when they moved. I love this as my cats have travelled with me from UK to Australia and then interstate - where I go, they go. Turbo is now 10 but still as vibrant as a youngster and it shows in his photos - his light shines brightly from within.

This delightful boy was a breeze to photograph and I hope you enjoy his photos as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Black cats have long carried a reputation for intrigue, intelligence and magic. For centuries they’ve been wrapped in folklore and superstition — but anyone who has loved one knows the real truth. They are often the most loyal, thoughtful and affectionate companions you could hope to find.

Marie is wonderfully curious, clever and full of personality.

She is also confident, very friendly and loves to play. Just gorgeous.

Sometimes the most wonderful things come wrapped in midnight fur.

The final portraits from last Saturday’s fundraiser at Pet O Joondalup in support of SAFE Perth - Saving Perth Animals from Euthanasia.

Together, we raised over $700 for rescue animals — a wonderful result. I was told someone saw the Facebook posts of the dogs and decided to donate $100 even though they don't have a dog! I guess that brings the total to around $800.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me to photograph your dog. I hope your dog's portrait is treasured for many years to come. 🐾

Ps: Pet O Joondalup 's Mascot, Doug, felt left out so we snapped him as well!

Ever wanted the most beautiful professional photograph of your dog? Who is up for the next fundraiser at Pet O Joondalup ? The next chosen Perth Animal Rescue charity and date will be revealed in a few weeks.

Yesterday I had the joy of photographing 15 beautiful dogs in just four hours at Pet O Joondalup , raising funds for SAFE Perth - Saving Perth Animals from Euthanasia.

Thank you Pet O Joondalup for hosting this event and allowing me to take up space on your shop floor.

Watching families’ faces light up as they saw their dog’s portrait on the back of my camera was something truly special. For some, the emotion ran deep. Those quiet, heartfelt moments are exactly why portrait photography matters. These aren’t just photographs; they are memories that will be cherished for years to come.

I’ll be sharing each dog’s portrait, in the order they were photographed, over the next week 🐾
