I shoot for so many amazing local companies who have a growing workforce and need regular matching portraits and headshots for their new recruits. I have a bible of lighting notes to make sure I match them and really love these shoots and getting to know the new staff!

For I am sharing this portrait of Twisha, exploring colour and movement. It was shot on the Nikon Z8 using Continuous High at 20 fps and lit with our beautiful kit of Profoto lights in Freeze mode at Cog Creative Space | Adelaide Studio Hire + Co-working est. 2013. The lens was the NIKKOR Z 135mm 1/1.8 S Plena. The model is the incredible musician who is super lovely and wondertul to work with! I’d like to thank Shaun Li Adelaide Brand Photographer for all the help, as well as Jack Adamson and the team from Diamonds Camera who coordinated the workshop where this image was shot. So much fun!

It was so fun to work with Rachel on these portraits at the new studio in the Adelaide Hills in Macclesfield! We can get quite a lot of variety in the space with multiple backgrounds set up in the same space. Rachel wanted a relaxed vibe for these portraits to help her launch her new practice in the Adelaide Hills. She loved the range of seating and props and it was nice to see her gravitate to some of the rustic spaces and props in the studio. I love having the versatility of working between Norwood and the hills for clients across the region :)

(Part II) It was pretty amazing to have the opportunity to capture another production by the . 'Wrestling with Catastrophe' is a major ensemble project directed by Gerrard McArthur, marking playwright Howard Barker's 80th birthday. Bringing together student performers and theatre-makers from across the Drama Centre, the project explores the influence of Barker's unique theatrical language through image-making, heightened text and ensemble experimentation. The production also features two-time Tony Award-winning lighting designer Nigel Levings, whose international career provided students with direct exposure to professional theatrical design and collaboration.

I certainly appreciated the stunning lighting across this performance - it makes ALL the difference, of course, to being able to capture interesting images. I'll post another set shortly - congratulations to the team for producing an incredible theatrical experience and such a visual feast. The actors are incredible and I look forward to seeing how their careers unfold from here!

Another set from my shoot with Ariel - super fun shoot using continuous light in the Pro Studio . The background is from the set of a TV series I worked on a few years ago, and I added one of my fave hand-painted backdrops from to create this corner in the studio. I mixed soft and hard light for these - and had some fun with the optical spot by . You can see a timelapse from this shoot (I'll post it shortly). Ariel was just incredible - so relaxed and confident for a young teenager! Mind you, Ariel is definitely not your typical teen - she spent a week with me doing work experience and we did this as a fun shoot to show her some more creative studio setups. Keen to do more shoots like this for sure...

This is Kylie. We have done a few shoots together over the years and for this one she wanted something with a more interesting background and a few relaxed and interesting poses for use across a variety of professional applications. She chose a couple of backdrops that would work well with her website and branding whilst being useful for promoting some of the presentations she does as a guest speaker, and things like LinkedIn etc. As usual we had a really fun shoot with her fave music on a playlist, and I absolutely love that she requested minimal post production to make sure her portraits are totally natural.

This is Layla - she came in for a basic portfolio shoot for her agency, so we shot a few headshots and mid / wide shots with a few different outfits. We have so many images (too many to show here) but I wanted to share a few to show the variety we can achieve in a simple portfolio shoot. I am hoping to get Layla back in to the studio ASAP to shoot some of the Cinematic Headshots I am rolling out! I just love Layla's look - she is super sweet and lovely to work with, as well as open to fun ideas.

The headshots are an example of my Basic headshot package - we shoot against 2 different backgrounds (white and grey / black) for a super simple and natural look, with a few outfits. The full lengths are part of the portfolio extension package - I do a quick lighting change and we can play on the cyclorama with full length poses and things like seated / floor and plinth poses (again in a variety of outfits). These shots are versatile for an agency wanting to showcase their talent without having over-stylised shots. So fun!
