Meet Diani Howard, 2026 Early Tertiary Scholarship Recipient 🌟

This year, Diani began her Diploma of Business at RMIT University, with plans to continue her studies and complete a Bachelor of Business. Her interest in business was sparked during her elective studies in business management, which she completed at Sacred Heart College in Kyneton.

Diani has already demonstrated outstanding leadership and community involvement. As a member of the Student Representative Council at Gisborne Secondary College and a Venturer with the 1st Gisborne Scout Group - Australia, she has taken on a range of responsibilities, including serving as Communications Officer, coordinating activities, and leading camps and events.

Receiving this scholarship will help ease the financial pressures of university and allow Diani to reduce her work commitments so she can dedicate more time to her studies.

Congratulations, Diani! We wish you every success and look forward to seeing where this journey takes you. 🎓

Meet Bailey Birch – 2026 Early Tertiary Scholarship recipient 🌟

Bailey is currently studying a Bachelor of Information Technology at Victoria University. With a Certificate IV in Cyber Security and plans to start his own IT business, Bailey is passionate about helping people stay safe online.

A former Gisborne Secondary College student, Bailey served as First Nations Captain and has always been committed to supporting others in his community. Despite living with a disability and a chronic illness, he has remained focused on pursuing his goals while making a positive difference in the lives of those around him.

Bailey is particularly passionate about empowering Indigenous young people. He has travelled to remote communities to share his IT skills, support self-employment opportunities and encourage young people to follow their passions. Closer to home, he volunteers with Sunbury Aboriginal Corporation and has served as a mentor and technician with Omnia’s KIDX PLUS program.

Looking ahead, Bailey hopes to one day use his IT expertise in a career with the Australian Federal Police. This scholarship will help Bailey with his course costs, travel to Melbourne and any required placements throughout his degree.
