I don't believe maternity sessions should feel like you're standing in a field in someone else's story.

I know that for you, the most meaningful photographs are always the ones that feel recognisably true to who you are, they look and feel natural.

And my role isn't simply to photograph your pregnancy.

It's to understand who you are and create photographs that feel honest to that.

Because long after you remember the details of the session, you'll remember the feeling of this chapter.

And that's the story, of this part of your life, that is worth preserving for all of the future versions of you and your family.

Link in my bio if you have multiple children, are drowning in piles of chaotic, jumbled up clothing piles, hate sorting clothes and cannot find a way to make it feel easier ....

Especially helpful if you are neuro divergent like I am, the visual overstimulation can feel so overwhelming, and although this solution doesn't make things perfect (I'm not sure anything really ever is right?) - it eases the mental load significantly, and this is what our brains really need, a little relief 😮‍💨

Absolutely impossible to squeeze all my favourites into a post but I tried very hard haha 😆

This location was not previously offered due to distance from my home and 3 very little kids who need me at that time of the day, as a mum I know you understand how challenging it can be to leave your babies behind when they are not ready, so I put them and their needs first.

But now my littlest is a little bigger, everyone is a bit more independent and I have the help I need to make it work...

It feels like perfection is everywhere right now.

Perfect homes.
Perfect routines.
Perfect lunchboxes.

And whether we realise it or not, it's easy to start carrying the weight of all those expectations into our own lives.

To feel like we should be doing more.
Giving more.
Keeping up with more.

But I don't think that's what most mothers are truly longing for.

I think we're longing for a little less pressure.

A little less rushing.

More moments that remind us what actually matters.

The warmth of their hand in yours.
Your baby (big or small) curled up on your chest.
The sound of laughter filling the room.
The feeling of the little ones you love most, so close

The moments we want to remember most rarely happen because everything was perfect.

They happen because we were present enough to feel them.

And maybe that's enough.

Wouldn't it be magic to have those moments captured?

I think modern motherhood has a way of pulling us out of the present.

There's always something to respond to.
Something to organise.
Something to remember.
Something to rush for.
Something to do next.

We're constantly trying to keep up with life while it's happening.

And sometimes I wonder if that's why the years feel so fast.

Not because they're moving faster than they used to.

But because we're carrying so much while we're living them.

One of the things I love most about motherhood sessions is that they create a reason to stop.

To put the phone away.
To sit on the floor.
To hold your children close.
To notice them.

Not as another thing to tick off the list.

But as an opportunity to be fully present inside a season you know won't last forever.

And maybe that's why these photographs matter.

But because they remind us what it felt like to be here.

Short answer - yes

Modern day motherhood makes time feel like it's flying by, the expectations on us are high and we try harder than any other generation to be it all, to heal, to serve, to have it all together. We deserve these memories to exist for us and for them, for all that we do and how deeply we love.

When it's cold and wet and raining out there, when it's better to be warm, dry, comfortable, barefoot, carefree and making the memories happen with ease ...

The studio is the place to be.

For big kids
For little kids
For the whole family

There's no stress, no checking the forecast 300 times a week and no worrying about the muddy clothes and runny noses.

Honestly, the studio in winter is a place that feels like your lounge room, looks like comfort and creates the best memories to hold on to.
