Runo turned two 🤍

We had a garden party in our backyard with friends and all the littles.

She napped FIVE minutes that day 🫠
And somehow… she still had the best time.

It felt like a bit of a full circle moment.
Last year we had to move everything inside because of the weather.
And this year, it all just happened the way we had imagined it.

I kept thinking about how not that long ago I was sitting under that same tree, pregnant, with friends around me.
And now it’s all of us again… just with little ones running everywhere 🥹

We’ve spent so many days out there over the years.
Christmas parties, grand finals, random catch ups.

And now it looks completely different.
In the best way.

Zach and I loved putting it all together and hosting everyone 💕

Little DIY bits, homemade playdough, a table where the kids somehow all sat for five minutes to eat cake 💁‍♀️😂

And finally getting a birthday cake right after last year’s frosting fail 🙃

I’m also so grateful a friend grabbed my camera and captured bits and bops - I didn’t gave to think of being everywhere all at once🙏

Becoming a mum has changed the way I see all of this too.

It’s changed what I notice, what I let go and what I hold onto in photography.

I’m more organised, more efficient.

I don’t really have time to waste anymore, so I’ve become a lot clearer on what actually matters.

Even running the business in smaller pockets of time…
I think I appreciate it more now.

And I definitely appreciate everyday life more than I used to.

So it felt really special to create something like that for all the littles.
And to have all our favourite people together in one place 💕

What is lifestyle photography?

It’s a term that gets used a lot, but it doesn’t always get explained.

Not all photography styles feel the same.

And it matters more than people think when choosing a photographer.

Some styles are more posed and structured.

Some are fully documentary, where nothing is guided at all.

Mine sits in between.

I describe it as lifestyle, with a bit of candid.

What that means is… I’ll guide you, but I won’t control everything.

I’ll give you prompts — how to move, or where to stand to get the best the light.

But I’m not trying to create perfectly staged moments.
I’m watching for what’s already there.
The way you naturally interact.
The way your kids move, come back to you, reach for you.

In a family session, that might look like walking together, holding hands, picking your child up, or just snuggling for a moment.

In a newborn session, it’s even slower.
Holding your baby near the window.
Sitting together on the bed.
Feeding, settling, taking your time.
Nothing rushed.
Nothing overly styled.

The goal isn’t perfection.
It’s connection.

There is something time gives you that nothing else really can.

Space to settle.
Space for everyone to feel comfortable.
Space for things to unfold naturally.

Some moments happen straight away.
Others take a bit longer.

And that’s the difference.

When there’s no rush, you get more than just a handful of moments —
you get a gallery with depth.

A mix of movement, stillness, connection, and everything in between.

Something that actually feels like your family 🤍

Five days old…
and now a toddler.

Same family, different season.

I don’t think I’ll ever get used to how quickly it all changes.

Being invited back to photograph the same families again is one of the parts of this work I value the most.

You start to recognise the way they move together.
The little things that stay the same, even as everything else grows.

And you see it more clearly —
this isn’t just about one session.

It’s about documenting a story as it unfolds.

It’s a real privilege to be trusted with that 🤍

Newborn sessions don’t need to be perfectly planned.

This session was a really good example of that.

Shortly after I arrived, baby Harry needed a feed.
So we paused and I captured some special moments of Molly breastfeeding Harry🤍

We came back to the beanbag where I photograph babies on their own a couple of times throughout the session, in between cuddles and time in arms.

For most of it, Harry was exactly where he wanted to be — held, close, comfortable.

Towards the end, his sister headed off to Kinder,
while I kept photographing Harry, who by then had fallen asleep.

Nothing forced.

Nothing rushed.

Just working around what everyone needed in the moment.

That’s how these sessions are meant to feel 🤍

And seeing Molly & Brad after photographing them when they were engaged, getting married, having Harry’s older sister, Elsie, and now as a family of four… felt extra special. My heart was so full after this session 🥹🤍

I think this is something we all quietly wrestle with.

There’s always something more practical to spend money on.

Things that feel more immediate, more necessary.

And that’s real.

Photographs are rarely not urgent. They don’t demand attention straight away.

But they’re one of the few things that shift meaning over time.

What feels small now…
becomes meaningful later.

You don’t always see it in the moment.
You see it when things have moved on.
That’s the part that always stays with me 🤍

long-term value • memories • time passing • meaningful investment

It didn’t start smoothly.

One wasn’t sure.

The other had his own plan.

Nothing really lined up.

So we changed the approach.

I stepped back, and mum fully stepped in.
She played her daughter’s favourite games.
Gave both of them lots of cuddles and reassurance.
Stayed close and let them settle in their own time.
And within a few minutes, everything shifted.
From uncertainty and overwhelm…
to fun, movement, and play.

This is how, in 20 minutes, she walked away with photos of herself and her kids that actually feel like them.

I’m always there to guide you.

But you know your kids best.

And when you’re relaxed and present with them…
they follow 🤍

One thing most people don’t realise about my sessions…
I don’t limit how many images you receive.

There’s no choosing between favourites.
No “upgrade to unlock more”.

If it’s a moment worth keeping, I’ll include it.

Because your family story isn’t made up of just a handful of perfect photos.

It’s in the in-between.

The way your partner or child reaches for your hand.
The little glances.
The messy, playful, real moments that happen when no one’s trying too hard.

Over the years, I’ve realised I don’t want to decide which memories you get to keep.

So I don’t.

I’ll always deliver your gallery as a full story — not a highlight reel.

I’ve just opened my calendar through to July, and as the sunrise shifts later, I’ve added a few sunrise sessions as well for the early birds.

If you’ve been thinking about booking, this is a really nice time to plan ahead 🤍
