Okay, I joined the trend 🫣😅

A few things I think are kinda chic — illustrated by a little throwback to our time at Ololo Safari Lodge | Nairobi National Park , because apparently these photos have been waiting for exactly this post.

Doing less and doing it slowly.
Romanticising ordinary life.
Choosing fewer, better things.
Making things beautiful just because.
Taking your children on adventures even when staying home would be a whole lot easier.
Being in the photographs with them.
And continuing to come back to the things you love, even when they’re hard.

Basically, a little collection of things I want more of in my life.

And a little appreciation for Ololo Safari Lodge | Nairobi National Park , which made slowing down, being outside and enjoying the simple things feel particularly easy. 🤍

There was a moment during this session that made me quietly smile.

As I walked into the bedroom, I noticed the photographs hanging above the bed.

They had been taken by me.

Their wedding.

Their first family session after their eldest daughter was born.

And now I was standing in the very same home, photographing the newest little addition to their family.

It felt a little surreal.

Sometimes people ask me why I think it’s important to print your photographs instead of leaving them on a hard drive.

This is why.

Those photographs become part of your home.

Your children grow up seeing them every single day. They become part of your family’s story, quietly sitting in the background while life keeps moving.

Then one day another baby arrives.

Another chapter begins.

And suddenly those photographs aren’t just memories anymore—they’re part of the story you’re still living.

There’s something incredibly special about being invited back to photograph families as they grow.

It’s one of my favourite parts of this job 🥹🤍

Towards the end of their session, Ainsley ducked off to see if she could find one of their cats. A few moments later, she walked back out with him tucked in her arms, ready for his turn in front of the camera.

It made me smile because it’s exactly how I think family sessions should be 😃

Sometimes, by the end of a session, you feel like you don’t have another five minutes left in you to convince the dog to stay close, the cat to come out from under the bed, or everyone to look in roughly the same direction.

But an extra five minutes—and about a million treats—is a pretty small price to pay for having them included in your family photographs.

Because they’re not just pets. They’re part of your family 🥹

I don’t know about your kids, but Runo is completely obsessed with our dog. Whenever we talk about who’s in our family, Chatsworth always makes the list. 😂

So if your dog, cat (or any other furry family member) is part of your story, I’d love them to be part of your session too 🙌

Sometimes they steal the spotlight...
And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤍

Throwback to European summer last July... ☀️🌿

Nothing extraordinary at the time. Just a little kid following her curiosity.

Looking back now, they’re some of my favourite photographs of Runo because they remind me that childhood doesn’t need much. Just space to explore.

A little update on my Creative Farm Session…

I honestly wasn’t expecting such an incredible response. Thank you to every single family who took the time to email or message me. I’m so grateful for all the interest.

I’ve now replied to everyone to confirm availability, and I’m in the very difficult process of narrowing down the applications. I genuinely wish I could choose every family.

Behind the scenes, the planning is well underway. I’m currently location scouting, and I’m so excited to be collaborating with Bearfoot Tribe for the session.

These little shoes were the perfect match for the golden hour farm adventure. They’re made for kids who love to run, climb, explore and just be little.

They let little feet move as naturally as they would barefoot, with just enough protection for everyday adventures. They’re handcrafted in the EU from beautiful, breathable Italian leather and are so soft and flexible that they move with every step.

I’m also hoping to collaborate with a clothing brand to complete the vision, and I honestly can’t wait to bring this whole idea to life 🙌
