Hi I'm Tamara,

I've been working in the photographic industry since 2008 & prior to that was studying & completed my Diploma of Photo imaging in 2009. Photography isn't just a job to me, it's been a part of my life since I was given my first camera at the age of 10. Capturing special moments in time, the love and connection between people is incredibly special to me and I absolutely love what I

do. I photograph families, children, pets, newborns and weddings. I do some studio settings for newborn & cake smash sessions but the majority of my work I like to use natural lighting and make use of our beautiful Tasmanian outdoors. I love to capture the loving & fun moments in life through my photography for memories that can be treasured for years to come & past down through generations. Contact me for more session information, I would love to chat.

Nourish at Gnomon ✨

What a beautiful evening at Mount Gnomon Farm, with the incredible talent of the Tasmanian Sympathy Orchestra filling the barn with music.

A special selection of pieces, thoughtfully put together for Saturday evening, created the perfect atmosphere for an evening of good food, great company and beautiful music.

There’s something pretty magical about sitting in a farm barn surrounded by music from such talented musicians. 📯✨

A beautiful evening at Gnomon.

I've been a little quiet around here. And there’s a reason.

For the first time in my career, I found myself questioning where photography fits in an online world that is becoming increasingly artificial.

I was scrolling through photography accounts and thinking… what am I even doing here?

So I stopped posting my work regularly like I used to.

I even got accused of using AI to generate photos of highland cows wearing Christmas headpieces 🙄 are we now so confused with what is real & what isn't?

I suddenly wanted out!

I went away with my little family. I got into nature. I saw waterfalls, deserts and landscapes that didn't need a filter, a prompt or an algorithm to make them impressive.

And somewhere along the way, I remembered exactly why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

People.

Real people. Real stories. Real emotion.

I've photographed weddings for more than a decade, and the things I love most have never been the perfectly posed, perfectly polished moments.

They're the moments that happen in between.

The tears. The chaos. The laughter. The weird stuff. The looks. The people you love.

And maybe that's why the rise of AI has bothered me more than I expected.

It's taking away the thing that makes us unique, the beauty in imperfection.

Because when everything can be created, manipulated and made “perfect”, I think there is something incredibly valuable about something that simply just happened.

I've never been a photographer who chased trends or followers so actually sitting with my own thoughts for a while was what I needed.
Working out why I was so pi**ed off with AI was good for me to realign.

I want my clients look at their photos 10, 20, 30 years from now and still feel something.

Not see a trend.
Feel a memory.
So I'm finding my way back to that.
Less artificial.
Less algorithm.
Less trying to keep up.
More real life.
More connection.
More emotion.

More of the magic that made me pick up a camera in the first place.

And honestly? Enough of the AI generated business ads, they all the fu***ng same! 🙄
AI should be your assistant not your brand

Seriously! Be unique ✨️ that's what makes you amazing!

I'm back. ❤️📷 T

"Some wedding days feel like pure magic..." ✨🌈
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of rolling green hills and endless ocean views, this beautiful intimate ceremony at Borradale in Stanley.
As vows were exchanged and happy tears were shed, nature put on its own spectacular show, with multiple rainbows stretching across the ocean and lighting up the coastline. It was one of those rare moments where everything felt perfectly aligned.
A day filled with love, connection, and unforgettable memories surrounded by the beauty of Tasmania. 🤍

🥰 I'm so honoured to be able to work with many amazing companies & clients from interstate & even internationally on a regular basis. Beautiful reviews like this mean so much ❤️

Review all the way from Tasmania: "I came to Sujan with a vision of how I wished my proposal to go and how I wanted to capture the moment perfectly with a surprise photographer.
To say he came through would be an understatement. Right from the beginning he was willing to work with me and communicated in a way that worked best for me. He was really clear as to what his service offered and was carried out super professionally. The way everything was planned with such detail meant it couldn't have gone better.
The photographer Tamara was everything we could've hoped for. She was really friendly and made us feel super conformable in front of the camera. She captured amazing shots of us and the proposal.
I truly am impressed with the quality of photos I received and cannot thank Sujan and Tamara enough for the service."

“I’ve never been so smashed in the face by hail whilst working!” 📷❄️😂

Daniel & Abby’s wedding at Cradle Mountain on Friday was nothing short of wild in the best way possible. The hail storm rolled in hard and fast, but not once did it dull the smiles, the laughter, or the love these two share.

Surrounded by their families, they braved freezing ice, relentless rain, and even a dusting of snow to top it all off. And honestly? It just made their day even more unforgettable.

Proof that no matter the conditions, love shows up, stands strong, and makes magic anyway. 🤍

Also… any Canon shooters out there I can confirm these cameras handle hail, snow & rain like absolute champions 🙌📸

One day, these won’t just be photos… they’ll be everything.

This beautiful beach session wasn’t about perfectly posed moments,it was about sandy toes, salty kisses, and the way little hands reach for you without thinking.

Because investing in family photos isn’t just about the photoshoot itself…
It’s about preserving the feeling of right now, before it quietly becomes “back then.”
Years from now, these are the moments you’ll long to hold onto.
The giggles, the chaos, the way your children fit perfectly in your arms.
With gentle guidance, nothing forced, just space for your family to be yourselves.
So your memories are captured exactly as they felt… effortless, natural, and full of love.

There’s something incredibly special about the emails that land in my inbox… the ones that begin with “we have news” 🤍

From wedding days filled with love and happy tears, to the next chapter… welcoming a little life into the world.

I had the absolute honour of photographing beautiful baby Angus , the sweetest reminder that these moments don’t end at “I do.” They grow, evolve, and become something even more magical.

Being invited back to capture these milestones is something I’ll never take for granted ✨
