There are defining moments in one’s career. Meeting Les Walkling was one of those moments for me. Reflecting back to 2010 when I first saw Les talking at the APPA’s, I knew he was on a level above everyone else in the world of art and photography in Australia. How he managed to entertain me with a presentation on colour management is a mystery to this day. I knew I had to learn from him. We have done many trips together over the years, but when you have a week driving through one of the most remote landscapes on earth, with one of the greatest minds sitting next to you, you know it will be something to remember. Les and I have been friends for sixteen years, what a privilege.

Back to shooting some film. I get the aesthetic is cool, but how will it look as a large print. These were all taken on my Leica M2. Maybe I will end up shooting medium format film again. Always wanted an old Hasselblad !

Having a play with the vintage Leica M lenses I purchased a few weeks ago. I must say, they do look strange on the SL3. Super impressed with the sharpness and quality. I also love that they are so small. I never thought that sixty year old Lenses could be so good. I guess they are Leica lenses though!

A photo of me and my Bronica SQAI. I loved that camera. It was all film back in 1990 when I started working as a photographer. Fast forward 36 years and I have just started shooting film again. I am still to scan the results and I don’t know how it will go but I am feeling very nostalgic. I have recently purchase a Leica M2 that is as old as me. It looks and sounds unbelievable. I think my daughter has her eyes on it. So let’s see where this film journey takes me again.
