This session was one of those afternoons that just felt magical from start to finish ✨

A beautiful winter sunset, the sweetest family, plenty of laughs, cuddles and even their adorable little fur baby joining in on the fun 🐶

It was relaxed, playful and everything family photos should be.

And looking through these images, I can't help but think how grateful I am that families choose me to capture these moments for them 🫶🏼

Because here's the thing... there will always be a reason to wait.

Life feels busy.
The kids are going through a phase.
You'll do it next season.

But these moments? They keep moving whether we capture them or not 🥹

Wellllll… after the overwhelming response to my story poll asking if anyone wanted to see me make my daughter’s birthday cake 😂🎂 here we are 🤭

I make each of my babies a birthday cake every single year and honestly, it’s become one of my favourite little traditions 🥹🤍

Are they always perfect? Absolutely not 😂
Do they take way longer than I expect every single time? Yep.
Do I question my life choices halfway through decorating? Also yes 🤭

But there is just something so special about pouring love into these little moments while they’re still little 🫶🏼

One day they probably won’t care about the cake itself… but I hope they remember how loved they felt 🤍

And now I need to know… am I the only Mumma out here staying up way too late the night before birthdays doing “one more thing”? 😂

This beautiful family originally reached out wanting a mini session because they only had one child 🤭

But after chatting, they decided to book a full family session instead — which also meant they could include the grandparents at no extra cost 🤍

Their little boy is turning 5 soon and they realised they hadn’t had family photos since he was a BABY 😭

And honestly… during the session they kept laughing and saying:

“I totally understand now why longer sessions matter”
“How do people do mini sessions with multiple kids?”
“Surely everyone needs longer sessions!” 😂

Was their son misbehaving?
Not at all 🤍

Did he want snacks, breaks, cuddles and time to play? Absolutely. Because he’s a child 🫶🏼

This is exactly why I love longer sessions so much.

There’s no rush.
No pressure.
No expecting kids to sit and smile perfectly the whole time.

We allow space for connection, play, little resets and all the in-between moments that actually make your gallery feel like YOUR family 🥹

And the result? Beautiful, relaxed memories like these 🤍
